Brilliant move as 911 caller disguised a pizza order to call for help

It makes me wonder how many dispatchers would have just dismissed this woman and hung up on her call. Props to this dispatcher who was on his toes and picked up on the nuances of her impromptu conversation to report domestic violence.

What was the point of pretending she was ordering pizza? She couldn't have been in that much danger anyways if the attacker let her keep a phone and order a pizza. Just talk to the dispatcher like normal.

"Bitch, I'm gonna kill you."

"Wait! Let me order a pizza first!"

"Ok, fine. One pizza. Then I kill you."

I agree. He even said that he thinks a lot of operators would have hung up, and it makes you wonder. It seems like there are some folks who don't understand domestic assault here or being in those situations. You grasp any opportunity you can and just pray like crazy. This was a safe way to ask for help. It's like that universal hand sign for when you're in trouble and need help.

Yeah, I heard about that a while back. That woman was very very brave and the 911 Operator was Awesome for recognizing her message as fast as he did.

I just learned about this case, and I felt so proud of that dispatcher. Especially reading in the news about all these horrible dispatchers who have hung up on 911 callers in distress. This was refreshing to see.
