Friends : Ross and Rachel

Ross and Rachel

He's too much of a dork to be paired with Rachel. I have no idea why they did that. Ross isn't Rachel's type.

Bini

Rachel charcter belong to Joey crachter but they left it too much late for the two Fiends to start to screw, hana

Re: Ross and Rachel

Rachel was single in mid-30s in the final episode. She's not getting any younger. She has a chance for a lifelong relationship with a guy like Ross - tall, handsome, great hair, intelligent, great career with benefits and insurance, great retirement plan, established financially, has no issue providing financial support to his son, good guy, who most women would DREAM of as a backup plan - and you think *he* isn't *her* type? Ya kidding me?

Rachel is fortunate that a guy like Ross would be interested in a relationship with her. Rachel's pretty yes, but if she ever said, in her position in life, Ross wasn't her "type," I'd find that to be pretty selfish and offensive of her.

Ross is an intellectual with a PhD in palaeontology. Ross makes the most money out of the Friends, and can support himself without roommates. Rachel was in credit card debt when they first moved in.

Ross is such a winner that they had to take down his market value by giving a kid and so many divorces, but even then, he's so *up* that it doesn't affect Ross.

If Joey were the one with so many divorces, this may affect his market value as a single man: he doesn't have the financial security and brains that Ross has and he has an uncertain future; his strong suits are his good heart, his sense of humour, being a fun guy to be around, and being a good listener and a friend in whom one can confide. Joey is a guy you can call at 2 AM because you're trapped in the snow, and he'd be there for you.

Even with Chandler, some women may be put off that he's been divorced so many times. He's already an erratic and quirky guy (a part of his fun oddball sense of humour) that having a string of marriages that didn't work out may put him over the edge to women thinking he's crazy.

But it doesn't affect Ross, probably because he's so established and secure in life.

I think they both happen to make a great match, and the attributes of both play off one another well.

If Ross's literal only "flaw", subjectively, is that be's "dorky" sometimes, and talks about uninteresting things, well, I think that's okay.

Men shouldn't be watching friends, bro.

Re: Ross and Rachel

Why?

Friends is as general neutral of a show as one could get. Three men, three women: equal representation and perspective across the board.

Chandler and Joey would watch Baywatch for the girls in swimsuits. If you remove the female representation in the show you are left with Pawn Stars or Duck Dynasty. It's 50/50 gender representation and perspective.

Re: Ross and Rachel

Because it's a show about relationships and love and sappy moments. It's a chick show, bro.

Re: Ross and Rachel

It's like saying Saved by the Bell was a chick show. There's an equal number of genders in the main cast for a reason. 3 and 3. They're designed to appeal to both genders. Not every "man" show has to be about hunting ducks a scratching sweaty balls to be a "man" show.

There are sappy moments and relationship drama in "Lost" and "The Walking Dead" as well. Are they chick shows? You'd say no, and I think your reasoning would be, they have traditionally-male subject matter like gore, blood, kills, action.

Growing Pains and Home Improvement were basically the same premise. But you might call Growing Pains a chick show, and probably wouldn't consider Home Improvement a chick show because Tim Allen talked about tools and grunted.
