Re: 2023 Golden Globes - list of nominees and winners
Thoroughly deserved and predicted.
Farrell and Keoghan were astounding, as were the cast in general.
Well, this is a tomb. I'll make them feel at home

It was like the ones I least expected to win, won.
Colin is an excellent choice though. I love his acting and so happy for his win.
Also, congratulations to young actors like Evan Peters and Amanda Seyfried for their first big award win.
Zendaya is really getting so much recognition for Euphoria. I'm so happy for her.
Michelle Yeoh always rocks! I'm so happy she won.
Steve Spielberg is still kicking ass after all these years in the movie making business.
I'm happy The Menu got some nominations and that someone in that movie won. It was a well acted ensemble.
But Cate Blanchet beating Viola Davis?? That's RACIST!
Re: 2023 Golden Globes - list of nominees and winners
If a white person wins over a black person it's racist?

Watch both movies and it becomes painfully obvious.

GGs is just filler before the Oscars which in H.Weird becomes the bigger deal and bragging rights for them after those are over.
Though in my book GG has the edge since they recognize and will award comedies.
Something the Oscars should do where they really need to lighten the fuck up.

hough in my book GG has the edge since they recognize and will award comedies.I agree, though the GG's can be just as much of a farce.

The last time an outright comedy won best picture was Annie Hall - '77. This was more of a sophisticated comedy and while a film I find quite delightful, it's not my choice for BP of the year though, which went un-nominated in this category.
Tootsie - '82 would have been a far better choice over the bland sludge that is Gandhi and Moonstruck - '87 over the stiff and detached The Last Emperor. I can understand Gandhi and Emperor winning the director nods, due to the effort to make epics out of their tales, but they were not the best pictures.
Norman! What did you put in my tea?
Re: 2023 Golden Globes - list of nominees and winners
wow
Re: 2023 Golden Globes - list of nominees and winners
If I was an movie and TV actor I would have been in everything and won everything.
Re: 2023 Golden Globes - list of nominees and winners
The Rings of Power should have been nominated and won over the boring House of Dragons! It was the best show of the year!
Re: 2023 Golden Globes - list of nominees and winners
Regarding the motion picture acting categories, I have only seen Kerry Condon in Banshees out of the supporting actress nominees. She was feckin' excellent.
I don't care to see Wakanda Forever and I do like Angela Bassett, yet her win seems like the token black nod, because if a black actor didn't win, racism would be catcalled. There were 2 Asian wins in the motion picture acting categories and were these deserving, or just tokens?
It doesn't mean anything, when pc politics is going to rear its outraged head. Be prepared for Asian and Black wins at the Oscars too.
