Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

The same people who fascinate over famous serial rapists and killers are also probably the same people who'd pull an Amber Heard or get with a Marilyn Manson type and get exactly what they expected. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

The only mass murdering criminal who should be seen in a more positive light (although, not for his crimes) is Ted Kaczynski.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

Is Dahmer being shown in a positive light in this series?

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

Even if he's not, Donna will flick her bean to the sandwich scene. I guarantee.

Was that sandwich supposed to be human flesh and did Dahmer really bring it over to Glenda to eat?

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

Started this last night. At first I thought, oh yet another one on Dahmer, but it's pretty good so far. The look on his dad's face when he's told what they found.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

Yeah it's good. I think I'm on episode 7 now. The last one I watched was tragic. Evan Peters is so good in this.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

On it again now.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

Isn't this about the third movie they've made about Dahmer? Or am I thinking of a slew of releases that came out about Bundy?

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

Yeah, at least. There are plenty shocking serial killers to make movies and series about, though.

Evan Peters is in it? Sweet!

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

Evan Peters is in it? Sweet!

Peters popularity is on the rise and he is well liked.

He has been very lucky with AHS and working alongside acting masters such as Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and not to mention the brilliant Sarah Paulson, he would have been able to learn and absorb a lot to hone his own skills.

Peters is Dahmer here and fully immersed in the role without any head space pretense.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

I'll definitely put that on my list then!

Thank you.

I agree about Even Peters. He's taken the opportunity and did not get typecast before it was too late. (I say that as he's playing Dahmer, how ironic), but he was in X-Men, and he's branched out. He has a great countenance and as you pointed out, he spent a great deal of time around some acting legends.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

I ventured into Dahmer with much trepidation. It is a truly sickening subject matter. I needn't have worried. It was handled very very carefully and knew what to show, what not to show and how to show it.

The layers and themes are very relevant too. It offered insight into something that I already had notions about, but put them into a more believable context, especially regarding my own judgement about his upbringing.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

Who do you think you resemble more, Dahmer or Rolf Harris?

Thank you for talking to me

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

Who do you resemble, Ted Bundy or Jimmy Saville, you base arrogant gimp loser?

Norman! What did you put in my tea?

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

I would say you resemble all four actually.

Thank you for talking to me

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

You resemble the rancid bowel movements of all 4 actually.

If only serial killers of the world existed, to eliminate conceited and ignorant gimp perverts like you.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

Evan Peters is so good in this

I'm sold! I love him. The one redeeming quality Dahmer had was that he didn't lie and say he was innocent like so many other killers do

He knew what he was, and he wasn't proud of it… very cruel, horrible person. He was a drunk and that probably enabled him to do the things he did

He even said he should be dead for what he has done upon his arrest.

He knew what he was, and he wasn't proud of it… very cruel, horrible person.
He seemed to lack some sort of emphatic quality that denied him the insight to see how far his actions created a ripple effect on those that knew the victims. Total and complete psychopath that couldn't help himself.

That he waited 9 yrs after his first victim, the boozing would have been partly to numb the conscience, although I don't believe he really felt guilt over his actions, just that he knew he did terrible horrendous things.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

His father said that Jeff's mother had seizures when she was carrying him

Could that have affected him? He certainly wasn't normal, and people can't help but wonder why some end up being crazed killers

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

I just finished this and loved it! The acting in it was so good. Especially the guy who played his father. I felt like I was watching them interact realistically.

I also loved the songs they played in it. Reminded me so much of my club/bar days lol.

Thank you! I had to come here after watching that lol.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

He was fantastic in this. Watching interviews with the real Dahmer after and it’s like the same guy. Creepy

Cheerio.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

I haven’t seen any actual footage of Jeffrey Dahmer but I get the impression that Evan Peters has nailed it from the way he walks, like a weird shuffle or something, to the way he talks. He was so good.

Totally! Great casting.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

Evan looks better as a blond too, it contrasts nicely with his dark brown eyes

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

I watched a lot of footage of him and the ones with his father a few years prior to watching this and they were very realistic portrayals.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

He also reminded me of Napoleon Dynamite. “Jeez!”

Cheerio.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

A little bit yes lol.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

Having decided not to renew our Netflix subscription and try HuLu instead, I haven't seen this, but it did remind me of The Behavior Panel. I sometimes watch their channel on You Tube when their subject is someone I'm interested in…
I just recently watched this. They analyze the behavior of people in clips. They have done many people. Harry and Meghan's Oprah interview, Amber Heard, so may others.

Here is one that may interest you.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

I hear you! I actually watch a lot of True Crime videos on YouTube. There are a number of channels that devote themselves to the killer and what potential motives behind it.

The last one I just watched was about Jared Lee Loughner. I learned so many details about this guy and the circumstances that I was previously unaware of. Frightening.

Check out Real Crime and Coffeehouse Crime. Those are just 2 of several that hit upon such subjects.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

🙂👍

And I will suggest that to Mr. Margo. He loves those true crime shows. So do I.

Strangely, he isn't as into body language and behavior analysis as much as I am.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

I have so many books on body language. I'm pretty good at reading peoples' body language naturally, but there are some very interesting books to read. There are also some fantastic YouTube channels on how to read body language, some in general terms, but others where they do what the channel you showed me does.

There was a channel that broke down all of the footage of Chris Watts. I followed that case because I was so appalled and disgsted by that entire story on so many levels. It was also interesting because the people they interviewed, his neighbours and friends, spoke about different his body language was during the whole time he was there with the cops (the neighbour would take the cop aside and mention how Chris doesn't naturally do 'this' or 'that').

There was a great channel where they introduced people to each other and watched and dissected their body language as they introduced each other, and broke down how each person felt (only to confirm their observations when they spoke to the people).

Fascinating stuff. So revealing. So many channels.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

Watching now. Probably going to give you a play-by-play breakdown opinion piece. I've never seen this before.

I think I might have that book or relative books to Body Language Tactics. What's frightening is right out of the gate, how courteous, calm, and friendly he comes across as he prepares for this interview. It's chilling.

This is going to take some time for me to get all the way through.

i had to watch a few of these to understand all of their terms and what they meant by clusters among other things. They do run long sometimes.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

He had multiple personalities. He was sick. Not a monster. He was a mentally sick individual that should be pitied. He'd been psycho since he was 5 years old. He was probably born that way. That's fucked up.

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

I have more compassion for his victims, but he was definitely sick and seemed powerless to stop

Bundy enjoyed killing, he didn't want to do anything else, although he was a necrophiliac as well

Dahmer wanted to possess his victims which is what drove him to kill

Re: Dahmer - Monster (Netflix) 2022

Instead of watching Hollywood tell the story,

watch real interviews of Dahmer and the testimony of one of his victims that was held hostage by Dahmer. He testified in court as a witness for the prosecution. What he described that night of meeting Dahmer and then going over to Dahmer's apartment and then Dahmer changing personalities on him and holding a knife to his side and handcuffing him and how Dahmer hand The Exorcist 3 playing on his bedroom TV and how Dahmer would go into trances while watching the movie and start chanting and how Dhamer would switch from normal.personality to psychotic personality and confusion.

Then Ophrah had Dahmer's father on her show way back in the day. His father describes what kind of child Dahmer was.

Bundy enjoyed killing, he didn't want to do anything else, although he was a necrophiliac as well

Yeah well the subject is Jeffrey Dahmer. Not all serial killers are the same, stupid.
Dahmer wanted to possess his victims which is what drove him to kill

Dahmer said that he wanted to dominate them. He described his compulsion to kill as thoughts that he couldn't help or stop.

He was sick in the head. He was also a closeted homosexual who was sexually attracted to black men. He said that he hated being having homosexual urges.
