Not that I want to do it but its comforting knowing its always an option in case things get really bad. I'm tired of acting like thinking about it isn't normal. It is normal to think about it, isn't it?

It's abnormal to not think about it imo.

When I'm upset I think to myself, "is this enough to kill myself over?" The answer is always no so I know it's not that bad and move on.

It also is comforting that I can just kill myself if I don't want to get up and do normal human things. Makes it feel like I have the only control that matters.

I usually think of so many different possible outcomes of a situation. Then I can designate one of those, "the worst outcome." Sometimes the worst outcome does happen. It just does. Its part of playing the game, you don't know how it'll turn out. But idk, even though that happens, I just take a breath and say, "I am still here. It didn't kill me." Nothing has been that bad - yet.

I mean, mental illness is common. What's normal anyway?
It's been a while since I've been suicidal. Well, not that long, but it feels like last year was a long time ago.
I was always too scared to actually do it, but the desire was there. For some time, I think I was trying to kill myself slowly by just being unhealthy.

I don't think anyone here is free from any mental illness. I just can't see a fully mentally healthy, neurotypical person finding any appeal in an environment like this one, even if they aren't currently dealing with shit. Some are just better at hiding it than others.

You can still have mental issues witha good family. Can't say my whole family is good, but my parents have always been great with me. My best friend is more mentally ill than I am, and she has no real trauma or shitty parents. Grew up upper middle class too. Sometimes it's just chemical.

I mean, you could be on an even keel. I don't know you. It's just like I said; hard to believe that anyone here doesn't have at least one thing wrong with them.

What is this place's appeal to you?

I think a person would have to be in a pretty dark place and feeling so much despair to want to end their life

It's horrifically sad that anyone would feel that way, especially a child

I can't say I've never thought about it, but I've never been in that much despair

I love life too much and I wouldn't want to hurt my family

I have been down enough to not care if I died, though, and actually asked for death because I was very unhappy at one point

So, I'm actually more afraid of suffering than I am of dying. When you believe in eternal life as I do, then there's a fear of the unknown, of course, but also a curiosity as to what awaits
