Scarface : Was the comedy act in the night club supposed to be funny at all?

Was the comedy act in the night club supposed to be funny at all?

If you look up the movie on the main page first Richard Belzar comes out at 26:26 and tells some really lame and bad jokes.
Then is followed by some no talent person that comes out around 29:00 dressed up in a fat suit costume with an ugly and big head that "dances" to music.
This all happens before the big shootout with Tony.

Are we supposed to be entertained by these "comedy" bits at all?
How can those in the nightclub be?
Is it because they are all stoned on coke and alcohol they find this fun in any way?
The shootout is more entertaining, actually.

Did anyone who watched this find it fun or funny somehow?
