Sully : Why would anyone watch this movie?

Why would anyone watch this movie?

I don't get it. We know what happened. And it happened at the end of the flight, and it must have lasted a number of minutes. An entire movie about it? I haven't even seen it and I can predict that they must fill it up with fluff about the passenger's lives, Sully's wife and kids and his life, everything hunky-dory until the fateful flight, and then about 10 minutes of terror, and thensuccess. Yawn.

Not saying Hanks is a bad actorhe's great.
Not saying Sully isn't a herohe is.

I just don't get a whole MOVIE about a successful water landing.

Well, Titanic was just a shipwreck, right? We know what happened; it hit an iceberg and sunk. But lots of folks enjoyed the movie.

Re: Why would anyone watch this movie?

No, it wasn't filled with fluff.
It starts with the incident and goes into its effect on Sully and I don't want to spoil it by going into detail.
The landing is strangely affecting I found myself near tears, and I don't normally react with emotion to movies. It was very intense.
And Hanks is great in the role.
It's definitely worth watching, doesn't begin with stuff about the passengers or the pilots' lives, and doesn't end with ten minutes of terror.

Re: Why would anyone watch this movie?

I thought the same thing. How are they gonna make a whole movie about that? But turns out, it was pretty good! I liked it!
