Hollywood fell a long time ago. Anything past the millennial has hardly been worth a pinch of salt.
If anything, Smith may have inadvertently boosted up ratings for the show and they don't deserve this.
I tuned out last year and it was at least nice to see a somewhat normalized presentation again, but now another type of scourge has been put on it. Snowflake, outraged, entitled triggered actors assaulting their peers.
Not to mention the pre-awards presentations for some categories, that were still shown as presentations, so why not live?

This was the year he was being honored and even if not announced at the time of the incident, it was pretty much a no-brainer he was going to win this year and his color did have something to do with it.
