I can't believe Bob Saget, Ed Asner, Willie Garson, Robert Downey Sr., Gaspard Ulliel, and Norm Macdonald were all omitted.

Yes, I met Ed Asner and Sally Kellerman on the same day in 2018. Not a fan of Norm, but can't believe they omitted Ed Asner and Mike Nesmith. Don't know Robert Downy Sr. but can't stand his son!

The In Memoriam part of the Oscars is about those who died the previous year, in this case 2021 which is the year the films considered for awards were released.
Bob Saget died in 2022. I'm sure the others the others you listed did also.

Bob Saget and Gaspard Ulliel both passed away in 2022.
