Alec Baldwin : Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

H.Weird has not said if they are going to stop or continue filming.
Yeah, the "show must go on," but it just seems rude, crude and cold to go on after that show killed someone.
So I suspect those assholes are going to finish making it.
I am not going to bother watching it.
Are you?

Re: Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

I understand your protest.
I agree I would boycott it just because of that arsehole.

But at the same time I'd feel for the whole cast and crew with all the hard work and the sht they had to go through after the incident.

I'd only watch it for them.

Re: Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

The only way I would have seen it in the first place is if I came across it on TV.
But I usually avoid westerns, because of the violence, and I am not a Baldwin fan.
Knowing what happened I will be sure to really not watch it now should it show up on the little screen.

I'm sure the writers and a producer or two are all working on how to rewrite and change the scene with the accident.
Heartless bastards.

"Please vote to preserve the unique character of Warren…" - Robert Duvall

Re: Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

It was an accident. People have died on movie sets before. Ben-Hur, The Crow, Across the Border, Skywayman, Noah's Ark, The Aviator, Hell's Angels, They Died With Their Boots On, The Flight of the Phoenix, Shark, Catch-22, The Eiger Sanction, A Bridge Too Far, …. there's many more.

Yet they're still watched today. No one was "murdered," it was an accident, and the armourer is the one who is going to be on trial more than anyone. Baldwin was handed what he was told was a "cold weapon". This was a terrible tragedy, and many families lives are shaken to the core by it.

Re: Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

OK but would you watch it anyway?

And if it was a "cold" weapon then why was he firing it anyway?

"Please vote to preserve the unique character of Warren…" - Robert Duvall

Re: Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

A "cold" weapon is one the armourer has supposed to have checked and loaded with blanks and is certified as safe to shoot for the scene. It is supposed to be cleared.

It's being investigated. The weapon has been seized as have all the weapons and ammunition for inspection. They're going to investigate how this occurred. The last time this happened was when they made the movie The Crow and the death of Brandon Lee.

Thank you for that because that is not being explained.

Do you know why they feel like they need guns that fire things?
Why can't all guns have blanks instead or just add in sound efx and cgi later on to make it sound and look like it was fired?

Re: Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

When a firearm is loaded, it affects how you hold it, how you hold your arm. If the firearm were empty, you, as the audience, would notice and it would look silly. It just wouldn't look right. It's like knowing when someone's been trained to hold firearms correctly or not. They're trying to make things look as realistic as possible to the viewers, and also for the actors performing to react to. The actors need to feel it.

Re: Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

I dunno why they feel like some projectile needs to come out or not in this day and age of cgi and post production changes to get it to look right.
Just use caps or add it in later with sound efx and cgi.

Re: Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

I'm not sure either because I'm not an armourer for movies, so I couldn't answer that question.

Re: Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

Who died on set of The Aviator?

I know that Leonardo DiCaprio did so amazing in that movie. IMHO, he should have gotten an Oscar for that one instead of The Revenant.

We don't talk about Bruno! No, no, no!

Re: Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

Probably not, simply because that Leftard Baldwin is in it.

Re: Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

I'm not a fan of his either.

And let's be honest about the guy.
He is not known for being nice and has an asshole aura about him.
Not saying he did this on purpose but to me he would be unsympathetic and want to finish making the movie.
He just doesn't seem to be the type to feel any guilt.

He's a TOTAL ASSHOLE!

He's a TOTAL ASSHOLE, as illustrated from the post from HD. And I'm sure he feel NO guilt or remorse, because he's Alec Baldwin, Hollyweird Royalty!

Aside from that picture of him breaking down in tears outside the police station, you mean.

Yeah, no remorse.

And he was a free man, no charges are being brought to him at all and he knew this, so his tears were not for him.

He's a TOTAL ASSHOLE!

He's still a TOTAL ASSHOLE!

The AD (who has previous complaints of lack of firearm safety on movie sets) handed him the firearm and told him it was safe to use for the scene. Yes, Baldwin is the one who fired it, but there are a lot of people who are going to be held accountable. As a producer, he's going to bear the brunt of it, as well as him being the one who fired the firearm, but the propmaster and armourer are going to be under heavy scrutiny since they were the ones who certified the firearm as "safe" before handing the weapon to him.

There's a big movement going on right now to eliminate the use of all firearms on motion picture sets given the advancement of today's CGI technology. From what I understand, Baldwin may even be involved in this (don't quote me on that aspect, however).

"There's a big movement going on right now to eliminate the use of all firearms on motion picture sets given the advancement of today's CGI technology."

So now they do it.

I just don't get it why they have any prop guns that can be deadly or that somehow fire projectiles at all that can kill and those are still being allowed even after the death of Brandon Lee of The Crow.

"Please vote to preserve the unique character of Warren…" - Robert Duvall

He's a TOTAL ASSHOLE!

In the 1990's they didn't have the technology they do today to create the same effects. The advancements we've made in technology since then are significant and many companies are exclusively relying on CGI effects rather than practical. The problem is that more often than not, practical effects tend to always look better and the audience can tell, which is why they're preferred.

This episode may shift the movie-making experience, however. We're not in the 1990's anymore. I don't make movies, and I'm not an armourer so I can't explain the reasons why things are the way they are.

That was a fantastic performance in an exceptional movie. I had a dog in the fight. :)

He was perfect in that role.

Re: Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

On July 23, 1982, a Bell UH-1 Iroquois helicopter crashed at Indian Dunes in Valencia, Santa Clarita, California, during the making of Twilight Zone: The Movie. The crash killed three people on the ground and injured the six helicopter passengers. Those killed were actor Vic Morrow, child actor Myca Dinh Le and child actress Renee Shin-Yi Chen. The incident led to years of civil and criminal action and was responsible for the introduction of new procedures and safety standards in the filmmaking industry.
Filmmaker Steven Spielberg co-produced the film with Landis, but he broke off their friendship following the accident. Spielberg said that the crash "made me grow up a little more" and left everyone who worked on the movie "sick to the center of our souls". He added: "No movie is worth dying for. I think people are standing up much more now than ever before to producers and directors who ask too much. If something isn't safe, it's the right and responsibility of every actor or crew member to yell 'Cut!'

The movie was still released!

Re: Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

I never watched it and never will chiefly for that reason.

Re: Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

Well I've seen it many times & often wondered how in the world they concluded with the limited footage they filmed. It just ends with him on a train car looking at the Nazi's as it starts in motion…

Re: Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

If he was acting in a scene, why would he aim the gun at the cinematographer who is not in the movie? Unless she was helping him rehearse… why even pull the trigger though.

yeah it makes NO SENSE

Re: Would you see the Baldwin movie, Rust?

Yeah and he was told it was a cold gun meaning it was empty.
So why would he have bothered to fire it at all?
And why are guns that can be deadly that fire things out of them anywhere near a movie set?

If I was an actor I would be so anti gun that I would never be in any movie that ever involved any kinds of guns.
