Tenet : Who were the good guys?

Who were the good guys?

Spoilers. Nothing about the movie makes sense but I thought Sator gave a pretty good argument for the case of the future people. If they faced extinction because of the short sighted behavior of their ancestors and had no better choice than to reverse the arrow of time then they would be justified in wiping out past humanity. The protagonist didn't have a good response to Sator, I don't remember him even having a response. Sator got the final word. Sator may have been a bad guy but he was just a weapon used by the future people. I think Christopher Nolan agrees that the good guys lost. The winners were fighting to doom humanity so they could eke out a few more years of wasted life.
