Classic Film : Any Criterion Collectors?

Any Criterion Collectors?

Anyone?

Re: Any Criterion Collectors?

Some years back I thought it'd be cool to have a vast collection of Criterion Collection DVDs. Unfortunately, they were so pricey I soon scrapped that idea. I did manage to buy one for my mom as a gift… it was The Lady Eve (1941), with Barbara Stanwyck. That one alone cost $40.

Re: Any Criterion Collectors?

I have a number of Criterion releases, but I'm not a Criterion collector.

It has to be a movie I really want, with a load of extras, and can't find anywhere else. Even then I pass most of them up because of the high price.

Re: Any Criterion Collectors?

Yes, I love Criterion releases. I have around 300. What about you?

Re: Any Criterion Collectors?

Too embarrassed to say now! You must be rich!

Re: Any Criterion Collectors?

I buy the occasional Criterion release if it's a film I really dig. For instance, I bought the Criterion for Fast Times at Ridgemont High a few months ago.

Yes, this is really me.

Re: Any Criterion Collectors?

No, but I wish this channel was available. I might even like it more than TCM since I've seen so many movies that are broadcasted on Turner.
