Economics, Business, Money, Finance : What was your very first job, salary, how old were you, and how did you like it?

school uniform store the 1st year we wore school uniforms
$5.00/hour
I got tired and self-conscious there.
Your story was very interesting! I also cherish some things, but your experience was quite.

So you worked at your high school?
Re: What was your very first job, salary, how old were you, and how did you like
No.. my mom got me a job that hired high schoolers, and I was 15 and going into my 2nd year. I think you have to be 14 or something.
It was a nice shop in a nice plaza, in the New Orleans area.

One week after graduation I started working in a law office for $97.00/week in 1971. I worked for a highly place attorney, and learned a lot about the law. I enjoyed it thoroughly and it was great experience.

I was 16 and homeless so I worked in a frozen goods factory saving up my money to buy household items, etc.. I'll never forget paying around £40 for a clear glass kettle that I just HAD to have only to suffer nothing but limescale problems until Ingot fed up and threw it away. Never.again.

Oh yes. I don’t know why they get these really tall people to be the Easter Bunny. Most little kids are terrified of a huge bunny.
Still, that’s a really funny experience.

OMG that’s hilarious! We all gotta start somewhere. 🤷♂️ 😂 Interesting fact: Josh Pais who portrayed AND voiced Raphael in the first Ninja Turtles movie, suffered from claustrophobia. So after filming Raphael's scenes, he would have to take the helmet off very quickly. Thus, the “claustrophobic” exchange between Donatello and Casey Jones.

Trust me, it’s not nearly as bad as playing a Ninja Turtle. Those costumes were made of VERY heavy latex, so you had the good life.

I had a paper route when I was 12. I delivered The Boston Herald every morning in South Boston. I forget what the salary was (it wasn't good though) but the tips made up for it.

My brother and I delivered papers. All I remember getting paid was tips.

I've always hated work. That's it.

When I was 11, I worked in a convenient store, kinda like you, stocking shelves, coolers, etc. for $2/hr. under the table. At 13, I worked in a restaurant owned by a neighbor, who would pick me up, and she'd drop me off in the evening, except on Friday and Saturday nights. She paid me $2.50/ or $3/hr, plus all the food I could eat, lol. I remember my uncle stopping by since it was a pretty hot spot (as would the mayor) and he said, "Man, you've gained weight". Worked at Kroger (after she sold the restaurant) until my freshman year in college, making $4.75/hr, and went from bagger to working in the hot-dog stand in the parking lot, which was the best job. Everyone I worked with (mostly people from high school) hung out there, and in my senior year of high school, I got a second job at a lawn care company (telemarketing) for $6/hr.
20 years later, the minimum wage has only gone up to $7.25/hr…
