Larry Tate and Darrin Stevens, who was on earlier in the day, yesterday.
TV's earlier Mad Men!

Re: TZ Rod, White and Blue Play By Play

That might be an underrated one. I watch it for the scene where the howling man transforms into the devil. It is maybe supposed to be seamless but I prefer the pseudo-jump cut look. Maybe it was intentional since it is jarring. The use of Dutch angles in the episode supports that possibility. I also like the miniature staff he uses to lock up the devil. It is almost comic.

Re: TZ Rod, White and Blue Play By Play

Up next is The Mirror. 8:30 EST

Pre Colombo Peter Falk plays an imitation of Castro who just took over a country and sees his enemies in a mirror that foretells his future.

Perhaps this is a protest against Castro taking over Cuba turning it into a fascist country.
Cuba, according to some, was not much better when it had USA influence.
Hard to say if it was better or worse off either way.
Against capitalism Castro was a hero and yet was his way really any better for the people at large?

Re: TZ Rod, White and Blue Play By Play

I am watching now! Being a Peter Falk/Columbo fan,I have been looking forward to this one!

You ask good questions! Better or worse either way?

Upon reflection….

Re: TZ Rod, White and Blue Play By Play

Did people flee Cuba on ramshackle boats under Batista's rule? I don't actually know but I suspect the answer is no or at least not as much compared to Castro's rule.

Re: TZ Rod, White and Blue Play By Play

I don't know.

If you are using the boat ppl as a comparison as to who was better, it is hard to really say where I think both men did oppress and even kill those who opposed them.

Some things that show that Batista was a ruthless leader.

…and again in 1952–59 as a dictator, jailing his opponents, using terrorist methods, and making fortunes for himself and his associates.

His return to power, through a bloodless military coup that deposed Pres. Carlos Prío Socarrás in March 1952, was widely welcomed. But he returned as a brutal dictator, controlling the university, the press, and the Congress, and he embezzled huge sums from the soaring economy. In 1954 and ’58 the country held presidential elections that, though purportedly “free,” were manipulated to make Batista the sole candidate.

Re: TZ Rod, White and Blue Play By Play

Printer's Devil is now playing.

Love it when he turns the tables on the devil and saves his girlfriend at the end instead of letting her die by the same methods the devil uses with the printer machine where he created disasters on it before.

Re: TZ Rod, White and Blue Play By Play

I like each of Burgess Meridith's appearences on TZ. I understand that he made the most.
Side note: It was only fitting that he was the narrator of Twilight Zone, The Movie.
I know you said you didn't see it, but he was a nice choice, standing in for the late Rod.

Re: TZ Rod, White and Blue Play By Play

Not one of my faves so I don't watch it anymore.
Doesn't seem like a TZ ep. compared to what follows.
Turns out that it is just a nightmare compared to later ones where something happens and the person is trapped in the TZ.

Re: TZ Rod, White and Blue Play By Play

THE MASKS!!!!

Spur of the Moment

OK so I recorded this one off the marathon and watched it later.

Very first time viewing it.

Oh boy!
This is such classic TZ!
I mean, with all these twists of a woman's future self trying to warn her past one not to make a mistake.

What really gets crazy is when they see each other again towards the end.
So did they see each other a second time or is this some kind of weird dimensional time loop where they see each other for the first time?
