What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy?

Re: What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy?

I dont know and I dont care.

Re: What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy?

^Best answer by far. In fact, it's the only acceptable answer.

Re: What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy?

oh come on Zolo u are smarter than that.

Re: What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy?

Ignorance = Don't know.
Apathy = Don't care.
Perfect answer.

Re: What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy?

oh ok now i know what Zolo meant, sorry.

i see. well, in the case of ignorance i was going for "ignoring" or "pretending to not see/hear/feel sth or so" or deliberately overlooking/overhearing so/sth, u know what i mean? rather than in the sense of knowledge, but maybe that was my fault in the translation of the term "ignorance".

Re: What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy?

Semantics! :)

Re: What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy?

true that. Dane's and Zolo's answer sound so much more clever tho than my clumsy attempts of explaining the differences below lol

Re: What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy?

Glad u see it my way now, lol

Re: What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy?

Re: What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy?

Re: What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy?

I dunno. Why are you asking me?

Re: What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy?

Don't know, don't care.

😺 Schrodinger's Cat walks into a bar, and doesn't. 🤨 Let's go, Brandon! 🤨 Try that in a small town.

Re: What’s the difference between ignorance and apathy?

ignorance comes out of dissatisfaction, is a more active condition (state of mind) that is brought about voluntarily and deliberately. u can actively ignore things by ur own will.

apathy happens bc of an inability, is a more passive condition (state of mind) that is brought about involuntarily and unintentionally. u rather "fall" into a state of apathy by sth u have no real control over.

great user name btw
