thinking that one day homophobia and racism would be a thing of the past because we were going to change it all. Oh well!
It felt as if those people were dispensible.
Really? I think they procrastinated too long as to what to do with retirement homes, but I'm not sure it was an easy problem to solve.
By and large though, it seems to me like those people were given some sort endangered species status and so the rest of the planet, especially the young, have had to sacrifice their entire future just so the vulnerable didn't feel as though they were being treated like an endangered species.
Let's be honest, these people don't work, don't go to concerts, don't go to sports games, don't go to bars or restaurants on a regular ocassion, so for them to isolate is no big deal. We could have delivered them food and supplies, as has happened throughout lockdowns anyway.
I don't know if I'm being heartless, but I can only look at this using my own principles; if I was 80+, I'd be mortified to think of the future hardship inflicted on so many millions in my name.
