The Walking Dead : Poll: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

Rob's been busy with work. Bee just disappeared a few weeks ago but hopefully she's still lurking. BMF was posting as BartManForever for awhile but he's disappeared again. And Horatio, damn it, where the hell are you?????? I haven't seen Styg and Klam for a long time now unless they are posting under socks, which is possible.

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

I’m sure that they’ll return before the summer begins.

Hell fucking yes! Another thread talking about the TWD and GOT trolls!!!!!! It’s just what this forum needed.

I knew you'd show up, even though I don't think this is really ATCJT.

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

I was wondering when you would show up!

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

Amazing thread. Honestly, though, if it weren't for losers like hungry and Orson, GoT might be a very successful team. Sophie, Putin, and Thirsty are pretty well-liked and entertaining.

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

If we're judging them solely on the entertainment they provide this small echo chamber of a dozen users, rather than the wild continent of IMDB, you'll find the real trolls easy to recognize because they won't want to win this vote.

What is this, some sort of interrogation 🙄

No. Why are you giving me attitude?

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

Because you are interrogating me, that's why 🙄

Have I asked YOU the same question? NO, so the sudden interest in my activity on those boards looks suspicious

However, if you are so keen to know my activity, you have at your disposal the boards

It appears that you are terrified of people here finding your old account and laughing heartily at it.

If he was from the resident evil board I most likely will remember who he was aha

Lmao 🙄

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Lara happened to be obscuring a secret from us regarding some predicament which took place on the Resident Evil board.

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

Okay. It was just an innocuous question, so you should lighten up. If you feel uncomfortable answering, then you’re not obligated to provide me with an answer. Since this isn’t an interrogation, I will just say I’m not suspicious of your past history. I was only asking to see if you knew anyone who I’ve spoken with before.

I’m going to assume that you’re hiding something.

It’s fine. Let’s just move on then.

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

Twd, but for me entertainment would mean who contributes more meaningful discussion topics and Got doesn’t seem as interested in or not capable of having serious conversations as much. Since I consider trolling as a negative thing I don’t show any appreciation or respect for that, but I know I’m different from most people.

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

A lot of them are what I would label as insult trolls, and some of them can be creative. I agree that a good chunk of the Game of Thrones trolls do seem to struggle when it comes to engaging in serious conversations.

The definition of what a troll truthfully is seems to be subjective. I’ve seen people’s definition of the word ranging from a despicable person who goes around making everyone’s hackles rise, while others think it involves the act of deceiving others online. What gauges whether a troll is successful or not? That also varies depending on the person’s standards.

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

Back when I was harassed by Twd they would call me a troll when I wasn’t one, and never was one. From past experiences being called a troll they were always by people who harassed other members and belittled them with the intention of wanting to break them and have them meltdown, and in return making them feel superior and look better for causing it. It’s seen as some psychological game to them but don’t realize or don’t care about the psychological damage it can cause. It’s no different than bullying, and I’ve said this many times but not one person has ever debated it. They probably know that it’s a form of bullying but don’t care, since unfortunately bullying isn’t really taken seriously especially where its online where it’s free of consequence and confrontation. As an outside witness it just looks like a bunch of bullies fighting each other to see who the better bully is, so I don’t understand the desire to contribute to it.

Occasionally I see one poor person who isn’t able to defend themselves being cornered by a group of people, and that’s where I get fed up with it and speak up against it regardless of context. Usually I end up being attacked for it but I don’t care because I’m that passionate about speaking up against bullying especially this severe form of bullying where one person is unfairly cornered. I don’t think anyone deserves to be treated that way.

But I guess there’s exceptions and since it’s subjective there could be a way to be seen as a troll but not actually cause any harm in it and just do it for the entertainment and humor, but if that’s by insulting or hurting someone else in the process I’m not for it. Another exception to that is if they understood it was not intended to be hurtful or malicious intention. I just see no point in it since I value real conversation over unnecessary nonsense that contributes absolutely nothing important. I also think sometimes the word is either misused or over used so much that it ultimately loses its meaning as well, where technically anyone can be labeled a troll. Thats also why I don’t care for the term.

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. TWD was always a board where serious conversations and trolling went on simultaneously (plus some on-topic discussions, but fewer of those as the years went by). The serious discussions would sometimes get two or three hundred responses, and would go on for weeks. There were one or two people who were equally good at both (Klam, in those days; Bee, Rob and Horatio), and some pure trolls (of these Styg and VHS were the best).

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

I didn’t know of the Twd board back on the original IMDb, but even from what it is now it’s the closest in similarity to the religion and spirituality board where I posted back on original IMDb. There were very few trolls there if any and if done only did it through productive conversation so there was still meaning to the conversation. Unlike Twd though there was also a high amount of respectful conversation where name calling for having a different opinion rarely occurred and as a general whole people actually contributed to logical, rationally, philosophical, and religious conversation and took it seriously. I have learned so much from that board.

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

Yes, TWD was very far from being a respectful board. But I have to admit I enjoyed the lightning-swift shifts from serious conversations to the most vicious mud-slinging. I think that's where I developed my particularly abrasive style. I can see, though, that many people would hate it.

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

You seem to be respectful for the most part as long as respect is shown from the other person which is fair. Your only flaw with meaningful discussions in my opinion is that your intentions seem to come across as wanting to attack the person’s ego that you’re disagreeing with than actually wanting to them to grasp the actual point of the lesson. I don’t believe it’s an effective way of teaching, to me it’s only an effective brainwashing technique which I’m strongly against since it’s a form of manipulation. It’s sad how easily people can be brainwashed too and I don’t think that should be taken advantage of.

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

I am actually very polite and respectful of other people's opinions in real life (as you might expect, given what I do). It's only when I am quite sure the other person will never change their opinion that I go in for ad hominem insults and assaults on the ego. Also, to be quite honest, I enjoy the freedom to be impolite here. Periodically I feel quite ashamed of myself and take longish breaks (this also allows my victims to recuperate, so everybody's happy).

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

Is that why you leave? That make sense and at least you notice when it gets out of hand. I think you sound exactly like a college professor does and you remind of a few of them. If you’re not one you definitely have the intellect and capability of being one 😊

Re: The Walking Dead trolls versus the Game of Thrones trolls.

I agree with what you’ve said there. A lot of people on here (I’m not going to type in names since they know who they are) have the tendency to create massive destruction to the point overkill. Some will even do it until a user gets ran off of the board, which to me is way too extreme on here. It’s always good to give users a chance to recoup after shaking up the hornets nest, if you know what I mean.

I don’t get it either…

I was the finest poster of both boards. Women wanted me. Men wanted to be me. At one point, Col Needham literally could not ban me. I was the Zeus of GOT and the Ra of TWD. Look upon my works and despair!
