Picked up one of these a few years back. Haven’t had the balls to try it yet. Knowing my luck, a huge shaker would come through right as I was doing my neck

has it been honed and stropped?

Re: I bought the new King c Gillette double edge razor, and its the best i own

It’s been honed, and was advertised as “shave ready”. I didn’t actually strop it, but I did get the strop. I didn’t get the hone yet, but will at some point. Apparently, you also need an accessory stone that goes with the hone, because over time, the hone develops a dip. So the second stone is intended to flatten the hone back to flat.

I also bought a second razor. It’s the same one, but it’s not shave ready. So it will have to be honed.

I would strop the shave ready one and practice a little on your arm hair first in an inconspicuous spot to get the blade angle right.

Thanks. I’ll have to give it a go sometime. I’ve been hesitant because I didn’t get the hone. I have everything else. Once you’re set up with everything, it will last a lifetime. The shave soap lasts a long time. I got a synthetic brush, but apparently the Badger hair is the best.
