I don't think Warren Beaty ruined the film at all

It's a beautiful film with outstanding acting performances. The sets, the cinematography, the camera shots. Like the one with Ben and Virginia standing in front of the projector kissing and so many others.

Ben Seigel's OCD was really out of control wasn't it? He was kind of losing his grip on reality from the beginning of the film. He was doing way too much. He was an hit-man, a family man, he had that extra-marital affair with Virginia, he was a businessman, an entrepenuer and a visionary. I think his problem was that he was so afraid of failure. Out of all the perfomances, I remember Annette Benning the most. That role was one of a lifetime period and she really excelled at it. She had to have influenced many young female actors of this generation. I'm not sure why nobody ever talks about this movie? Warren Beatty did fantastic in that part. There were times I felt afraid of him. I think the character lend something more than what we normally see of mobsters like Benny Seigel. Warren didn't play the part like typically. Instead we see a classier and cerebral Ben Seigel. Everything he did was carefully thought out until his OCD got out of control.
