The Twilight Zone : Willoughby…. Willoughby…. Next Stop, Willoughby!

Willoughby…. Willoughby…. Next Stop, Willoughby!

The perfect little town.
While I do not wish to get there in the way that Garth arrived, it is a nice little town where a person can take full measure…

Dan Daly, father of Tim from Wings fame, was amazing in this episode.👍

Re: Willoughby…. Willoughby…. Next Stop, Willoughby!

This is actually the episode that touched me the most, and it's the one I go back to before any of the others. I suppose heaven is whatever, and wherever you want it to be, and Willoughby was his. I'm glad he made it out of his living hell, and into his little bit of paradise.

When you give it further thought, it's a nice way to go… yes.gif

An excellent episode, and open to several interpretations.

Yes!

Re: Willoughby…. Willoughby…. Next Stop, Willoughby!

I just love the twist showing that Willoughby is the name of the funeral home and that is where he ended up!

But I do wonder if what he was dreaming of was his idea of heaven and he ended up being there?

Re: Willoughby…. Willoughby…. Next Stop, Willoughby!

Gives me the chills. Excellent episode.

Re: Willoughby…. Willoughby…. Next Stop, Willoughby!

One of the best.
Dan, Tyne, Tim… The whole family had/had talent.
Dan Daly grew up in a town close to us. Daly Drug is still doing business even with a Walgreens right across the street. The Daly Music store went out of business a while back though.

Great episode.

While I do not wish to get there in the way that Garth arrived

Maybe it was heaven?

Re: Willoughby…. Willoughby…. Next Stop, Willoughby!

If that is the way death is, I think it would be pleasant.
Of course, I have no intentions of stepping off. I'll wait to be led by the hand. smile.gif

I'll wait for Robert Redford… Nothing In The Dark. Another fine episode. biggrin.gif

Re: Willoughby…. Willoughby…. Next Stop, Willoughby!

Some trivia.

The train conductor, forgot the actor's name and too lazy to look up now, later on played a bartender in the sitcom Archie Bunker's Place.
He was also the original voice of Bobba Fett in Empire. LOL
Even now I still cannot believe that is the same actor!

Re: Willoughby…. Willoughby…. Next Stop, Willoughby!

yes.gif Jason Wingreenis is the name of the character actor. He was a familiar face, having appeared in countless movies and TV shows.
Check out his filmography….

Re: Willoughby…. Willoughby…. Next Stop, Willoughby!

Thank you for posting his name.

Did you ever see him as a regular in anything else like Archie Bunker?

Re: Willoughby…. Willoughby…. Next Stop, Willoughby!

You're welcome.

Other than All In The Family and Archie's Place, I haven't seen him as a regular in anything else, but I did take a long look at his filmography on IMDb this morning. I have seen him in so many movies and TV shows over the years.

He did have some regular/semi regular roles on some TV shows. I just never watched these…
Apparently, he had a regular role as a judge on Matlock.
He also had a role on a western called The Rounders.
In the 60s, The Long Hot Summer was adapted to a TV show, and according to his filmography, he was a regular on that.

Re: Willoughby…. Willoughby…. Next Stop, Willoughby!

Do you ever see a character or small part actor, not sure of who he or she is, then feel that sense of relief when you look up the name and see where you saw him or her before?
Or is that just me?

Re: Willoughby…. Willoughby…. Next Stop, Willoughby!

I do. It bothers me until I look that person up. Once I know what other movie or TV show I have seen them in, I'm like, 'That's it!" There have also been times when I have been surprised by other roles they have played, and even though I had seen the film, I hadn't realized that it was that same actor.

Is this the theme song to that ep?

Re: Willoughby…. Willoughby…. Next Stop, Willoughby!

laugh.gif Nope! That is cute though!
Watching that, I'm reminded more of this….
