The Walking Dead : Really scary movies

Re: Really scary movies

I'm the only person I know who can binge horror movies, turn off the lamp, and then roll over and go to sleep without batting an eyelash.

It's super hard to rattle me.

BUT…

The two movies that utterly did me in and caused me to sleep with the lights on were "Unrest" and "Night Light".

Both Indie horror. They were hidden gems on Netflix at the time. Not sure if they're still streaming, but they were excellent and the only two movies in recent memory where I remember cowering under the covers every now and then.

Re: Really scary movies

Okay, checking out Unrest right now. Thanks!

Re: Really scary movies

Heads up: The acting by the lead actress is atrocious! Don't let it detract from the genuine creepiness of it, tho! Enjoy! I might give it a rewatch tonight to see how it held up. 😊

Re: Really scary movies

Apparently there is a dramatic medical documentary out now that's also called "Unrest".

Don't watch that one. Boresville!

Re: Really scary movies

Black Christmas (1974) us one one my favourites. Been watching it annually for decades now.

Both Black Christmas and Visiting Hours were filmed in Canada.

Re: Really scary movies

Really! Two of my favourites! I'm re-watching Visiting Hours right now (for about the 15th time).

Re: Really scary movies

I can't recall if I've actually seen it. Good cast though, I'll likely view it soon.

Re: Really scary movies

I need some help! Movie I saw…I've forgotten the name. Very scary. Guy has a miraculous gift. He breathes life into dead people. He starts raping and killing women and then resuscitating them. He does this over and over again. Weird, sick and very watchable.

Re: Really scary movies

It was called Come Back to me. Scary as hell.

Re: Really scary movies

Oh, saw that one! More disturbing than scary, but super cool concept.

Reminded me of the same psychological mind-fuck movie where a brutal male serial killer was reincarnated as female murder victims for all eternity as part of his damnation.

Re: Really scary movies

The Sentinel, 1977. Very scary!

You asked a pretty question; I've given you the ugly answer.

Re: Really scary movies

The Fly.
Saw.

Re: Really scary movies

Most horror movies don't stick with me as being scary. Movies where people have their throat or wrist slit always fuck with me. Jump scares are cheap but briefly effective.

The one movie moment that still haunts me to this day is the ending of Solaris (1972). Mainly because I would ashamedly end up exactly where the protagonist did. It's not a horror movie by any stretch. But it certainly hit me like one.

Re: Really scary movies

Trust you to be the only one to cite a Tarkovsky film!

Re: Really scary movies

What can I say? I'm a pretentious fuckhead.

Re: Really scary movies

No, it's a good choice. One of the most disturbing movies I've ever seen was Z, by Costa-Gavras, and it wouldn't be on anyone's list of scary films.

Re: Really scary movies

I'll have to look that one up.

Re: Really scary movies

i've seen all Tarkovsky films tbh, but none of them were scary lmao

suck it.
