is cacomorphobia (irrational fear of fat people) a sin?

There are so many sins. If there is already enough sin in your community, you'll see things like disease, theft, corruption..

I don't know the author of this article but their analysis is something we all should consider taking seriously.

Cacomorphobia – the fear of fat or obese people is derived from Greek caco meaning ugly, morpho meaning shape and phobos meaning fear or aversion. Thus, Cacomorphobia stands for the irrational fear of fat people.

To an extent, the fear of fat people could be related to body image issues which are usually media or culture induced. No one wants or likes a fat body; fat people are rarely shown in movies or on TV unless it is to make a joke about their weight. Cacomorphobes are terrified of fat or obese people; they simply cannot control the terror they experience around such individuals. They often realize that they are being judgmental (often downright mean), and yet they are unable to control the panic attacks they experience at the mere thought or sight of fat people. The phobic might also realize that weight has got nothing to do with a person’s nature. Still, s/he is unable to control the negative thoughts or feeling of dread, revulsion or anxiety around one. Cacomorphobia is a relatievly rare phobia, the intensity of which varies from individual to individual.

I think of the House episode…..

I think of the House episode where the firemen find an incredibly fat man in a bed in a burnt out apartment. They think he's dead, and begin discussing how the hell they're going to get him out of there. A crane is suggested. Suddenly the fat guy wakes up, much to their surprise!

😺 Schrodinger's Cat walks into a bar, and doesn't. 🤨 Let's go, Brandon! 🤨 Try that in a small town.

I think I saw some of that episode…or maybe it was from Law and Order. Did Law and Order make a similar episode?

I think of the House episode…..

Dunno. Never watched Law and Order.

You've never watched one episode of Law and Order?

I think of the House episode…..

Not that I recall.

Omg..and I thought that series was popular enough that at least everyone has seen one episode.

I think of the House episode…..

Think again.

What do you watch? I don't think you discuss it. You're always relying on imdb ratings, but rarely do lead any discussions related to movies or tv series. I take it that you don't like watching tv or movies?

I think of the House episode…..

I actually don't rely on IMDb ratings. Rather I use them as a general guide when deciding how to spend my valuable time. I love both both movies and TV shows, but they need to be good.

Some of my favorite movies: 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, Casablanca, The Godfather Parts 1 and 2, Citizen Kane, Annihilation, Lawrence of Arabia, Bridge on the River Kwai, Mr. Roberts, The Treasure of Sierra Madre, The Shawshank Redemption, Duck Soup, M*A*S*H*, In Bruges, and A Night at the Opera.

Some of my favorite TV Shows: Upstairs/Downstairs, The Twilight Zone (original), Twin Peaks, Fargo, Sherlock, Bojack Horseman, Hill Street Blues, House, The Sopranos, Chernobyl, Better Call Saul, Stranger Things, The Big Bang Theory, Westworld, Cosmos (original) and Dirk Gentley's Holistic Detective Agency.

I browse tv shows until I find something that I think I might enjoy. So you'll see my flipping channels with the remote or scrolling through titles. My favorite tv series started mostly from pre-2010.

No, but being homophobe and racist should a sin respectively.

Looks like it. Imagine him doing the catwalk.

That was the first I've seen it. I thought it looks like a long kilt with pants under it. If he's wearing an actual kilt, I'd…..ask him to lift it.

That looks oddly uncomfortable.

Re: is cacomorphobia (irrational fear of fat people) a sin?

I know, right? I imagine some parts can be too stiff to move around and the texture would feel weird. I mean, sure it may be cool and unique to some, but the comfort level would be low. It wouldn't suit me.

Edit: I used that image as a means of me just sitting on the front porch with that pose on the chair, waiting for the fire brigade Leopald would send after me. As for the clothes choice, I'd use the tight sleeveless shirt outlining my upper body and a short kilt.

Re: is cacomorphobia (irrational fear of fat people) a sin?

just wear a t-shirt and shorts like most people do.

Re: is cacomorphobia (irrational fear of fat people) a sin?

I always have. I never said I'd wear that. I even wore a kilt once. Ooooh, it's so breezy!!

It's a bit strange that men who wore kilt have such nice bubble butts.

Re: is cacomorphobia (irrational fear of fat people) a sin?

I don't live in that area so I wouldn't know. Lol

Re: is cacomorphobia (irrational fear of fat people) a sin?

You've just now discovered that? You're not going to do anything to help them because you use the photos as jack-off material.

What have you ever done to help support the gay community with any of their goals? I know I have especially in regards to Hollywood, and fashion. Some art but not much.

I've really backed away with my support too because I was receiving a lot of animosity from the homophobes.

Re: is cacomorphobia (irrational fear of fat people) a sin?

My face when you just rambling nonsense:

Are you done? Okay? Okay. First of all, it's not a jack off material to me unless if you're horny for artistic clothes. Also, on a graphic, TMI worthy note, I jack off to porn videos, not pictures because they don't move and make out. Unless if you count moving pictures in Harry Potter series? That would be awesome.

What have you ever done to help support the gay community with any of their goals? I know I have especially in regards to Hollywood, and fashion. Some art but not much.

Yes. I donated to several charities, including LGBT communities. I know it's not much, but I do support them and I even saved a gay friend from the homophobes. Don't assume you know everything I did. Even the university I'm attending has LGBT club that has a weekly meeting and I've always wanted to go but couldn't due to job, which I've quit recently.

I've really backed away with my support too because I was receiving a lot of animosity from the homophobes.

I'm sorry you went through rough situation. I, too, went through rough situations and I even got threats from a couple of homophobes before, and one of them indirectly threatened my mother unless if I "respect" his homophobia. (he said rather graphic stuff, which rape victims would hate to hear). That was three years ago.

Re: is cacomorphobia (irrational fear of fat people) a sin?

Okay got it crystal clear.

Re: is cacomorphobia (irrational fear of fat people) a sin?

you're almost as bad as P_C with the gay pride. Yeah, we get that you're gay everyday and not just one month of the year.

Their coalition contacted me but I am hesitant about supporting their political goals and their agenda in Hollywood. Gay became too politicized. I didn't realise that homosexual actors are that under-represented in Hollywood. They also have added more categories to their identities. It never occurred to me at all. I figured all the gay actors were playing straight characters. I'm extremely naive about all of it and it looks to me, like there is no harmony within that community either.

Re: is cacomorphobia (irrational fear of fat people) a sin?

From my brand new account. I just found out from another member of filmboards, that America's Next Top Model might have a season that features plus size contestants. I doubt fat will ever be cool. I have no idea if that's real or not. That's an interesting concept for a beauty contest. Lane Bryant earned success with their apparel although regarding mainstream high profile contest like America's Next Top Model, I'm interested in seeing what the ratings will be if it actually does airs.
