Resident Evil: The Final Chapter : Blame Sony, not Paul.

Blame Sony, not Paul.

You can also blame Milla for getting pregnant.

Who remembers when Sienna didn't come back to Extinction? Raise your hand if you remember?! Well Sony got really mad at her not coming back and wanted to boycott her from any further sequels. Paul and Milla fought their hardest to get Jill back in Retribution.

Then comes Li Bing. Who remembers when she turned down the Retribution premiere, because she wanted to protest some issue in China?! I do. Sony got mad at her for that.

Now can you imagine Paul and Milla trying their hardest to fight back two actresses that Sony does NOT want?! Can you imagine the White House battle with only Leon and Alice vs. Wesker?!

There was a rumor floating around that they were going to recast Wentworth Miller, along with the apparent White House battle, but Milla got pregnant and they had to cancel. When filming could reside again, Wentworth was doing another show. He was busy. By then Sony leaked e-mails to cast new characters that were expendable and also international to make them bank. But Sienna, Li and the Leon actor had an open schedule. So could they have at least filmed The White House battle? It's all up in the air, because after a 2 year delay of filming, maybe Paul didn't want to fight for Jill/Ada.

Either way this franchise was about Alice. We got a beautiful, proper closure to her character and that's how the film ended. But Paul tries his hardest to please the fans. Give him some space.

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul.

But Paul tries his hardest to please the fans.
Wrong, he tries his hardest to please himself.

SONY allowed Anderson to re-cast the game characters, he didn't want to, his fault.

SONY wouldn't have prevented Anderson from putting a single line about the missing characters, he refused, his fault.

SONY didn't tell Anderson to write Wesker as a little bitch, his fault.

SONY didn't tell Anderson to create as much plot-holes as he could, his fault.

SONY didn't force Anderson to use quick editing, he did himself because he wanted to, his fault.

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul.

Pretty much this.

Sony can be blamed for wanting foreign actors but in the end of the day they DID give Paul the chance to recast but Paul because in the end of the day he doesn't give a s..t and he didn't fight at all to bring the other actors that could have come back.

The Actors for Leon, Jill, Chris and Becky could have returned. Sony was mostly pissed at Sienna and Ling Ling but Leon and Chris could have still returned and Paul could have just replaced the other two female characters with foreign actors as wanted by Sony or replaced the characters with different characters.

People need to learn to stop defending Paul. Blame will always be on Sony and Jeremy Bolts for this meddling but Paul in the end is still the man in charge and has a larger say.

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul.

Everybody had their part of blame in this matter, not only Sony or paul.

The extraordinary is in what we do,not who we are.

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul. Spoiler

No I can blame him as he is a *beep* idiot. I loved his early films and I defend the 1st film, avp and death race but since then absolute garbage.

How about no continuity between any of the films he is the SOLE writer of lol and director for 4 total films out of 6.

Alice had memories of who she was when she was planning on sabotage the company. Now she is a clone? She lost her memory after Spence released it in the facility as a counter measure by the red queen

Wasn't Isaacs trying cure the virus hence why he kept searching for the real Alice in 3.

The Red Queen was Angela Ashford the daughter of Dr. Ashford created the T-Virus.

The T-Virus was already an air born virus right so wouldn't the antivirus be one too.

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul. Spoiler

Au contraire,mon ami

In the first movie she lost her memory after the red queen activate one of the counter-messures to realeasing the virus by spencer, but and the end of it She rememberd who spencer was.

In extinction,at the beginning of the movie, there was a board meeting at Isaacs said: "using her blood i'll develope a serum that not only stop the effects of the t-virus,but also reverse IT", they want to controll the virus not to cure him

If You rember,in the same movie, when wesker and isaacs were alone,he said:THE ORIGINAL PROJECT ALICE is the key, they admit She was a clone, that's for the clone trial was for,to find a substituie to the original

And the red queen was modelled after Alicia Marcus,IT was explained in the Final Chapter

Next time You should pay attention not only the fight scenes, but also to the story

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul. Spoiler

Problem is the original Alice was the only one to bond with the t-virus in the first place.

That's why she was better captured alive and not killed.

That's why the plan was to capture Alice and clone her, not the old cripple who is a member of the corporation.

This new film is one big continuity error.

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul. Spoiler

That was a clone. A scientist. No one in the franchise knew of the anti airborne virus besides the Red Queen when there was only 48 hours left of humanity.

You guys totally missed the ending when two Dr. Isaac's confronted one another? The real Isaac had the cure and he was in a cryo-tube for the past 10 years. He made many clones of himself. One being in Extinction (that knew nothing of the cure) and another in the 6th film that was a religious nut.

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul. Spoiler

Yes,you're right i forgot about that, indeed,in the umbrella tank, alice said "i killed you're clone", thank You for remind me of that

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul.

Paul has never gone truly with the video game because he is obsessed with his wife Milla.

This was just a way to get close Ups of his wife.

He's a clown, plain and simple. It's better the game characters weren't in this stink fest. Look what they did to wesker

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul.

Hell in the special features on Apocalypse that's all he and Bolt take about. If the film was lagging cut to a close up of Millas "otherworldly beauty".

The series ended up a mess because of Paul' & his lack of decent writing & directing skills. He pretty much just wrote action scenes around Milla without regard to anything else. Even crappy popcorn movies like the Fast & Furious franchise gives other characters development & moments despite being centered around 2 characters originally.

I defended the first film but it's like each one he did the directed & wrote got progressively worse. Hell there where even elements of AvP I liked. For a man who prides himself on action scenes & making a $20 million budget look like a $50 million budget, it doesn't show in this one.

You can make a popcorn flick & still make it competent. I'm actually glad the game characters didn't return. They all probably would've been as screwed as Wesker was. Claire was the most useless she's ever been. At least in Extinction & Afterlife she had some importance and an action scene. He didn't need to have Ali return at all, but she seems like she never really cared for the character anyway in comparison to the other game character actors.

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul.

Tell me,what movie adaptation of a game is better then this?

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul.

Some people here don't remember that the first grafts of the original film was about Jill Chris barry in a mansion etc. and capcom didn't want it like this, they didn't want anybody to use the game characters, it's was until the second film where they can use it, and at first place it's was suppose to be Claire, Birkin , sherry and Jill on it, but again, capcom didn't let Paul to use all this names and they recount the story. Beside, we all know the problems with Sony when this sterile start to be Famus and start to make more money, they cut all the story of the redfields in afterlife (the flash backs of the past, Code Veronica, etc) all of this is in the original scrip, and in retribution all the story surround Jill and how everyone know her and want to save her (Alice, Leon, Barry), again Sony cut al the dialogue in pro of action scenes and they didn't like Jill at all so they cut all her scenes down and at the end the final battle its with rain

Beside nobody here can't took about recast , I mean , seriously ? Everyone fight to have Jill 2 times, sing a petition and everything for not recast her in first place

And another thing, the game characters can't be killed in the films, that's happened before, if the characters are important to the games, they can't kill them . And Jill, ada, Len and Chris are so important to the game. They prefer let the beginning oupen so nobody knows what happen with them. And I prefer this that kill all of them in 5 minutes.

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul.

If you can give me a link to the, "original scripts," with all this content is would appreciate it. I never knew they had Code Veronica's references planned?

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul.

Just search it on google , the original script for afterlife is everywhere

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul.

You can also blame Milla for getting pregnant.

Lol, what?

How is that also not at least 50% Paul's "fault?" What, you think dastardly evil Milla trapped her husband with an unwanted second baby?

Jesus.

Take moments of happiness where you can; the world will take the rest.

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul.

There's plenty of problems with this movie you can blame Paul for, the shakey camera action and quick-cut editing being primary among them. Go watch reviews for this movie and you'll see a consensus that its the editing that was the biggest detriment to this film. Yeah the set pieces and action look nice, but you can barely see them with all the headache-inducing cuts.

Again, this is coming from a long-time fan of this series. But I can't excuse this.

Re: Blame Sony, not Paul.

Maybe Paul is not the only one to blame, fine. Maybe Sony and even Capcom made some very piss poor decisions. I mean why would a compagny not want the movie based on its game to focus on its character. That would be like having an Halo movie (a big budget one from Hollywood) and not focus on Master Chief. Or have a Gears of War movie based on random COGs

But even with all the studio interferences and such, it still does not pardon the major problems of this series. For exemple the lame use of the characters when he DID have them. Or the retcon of the story. Or the fact Retribution is just a big action scene with no purpose plot wise. Or the horrible editing/shaky cam of this movie along cardboard cut characters. Really when you look back at least LJ or Kmart felt like characters even if not from the game. In this one they are less than one dimensional. Even the randoms from Afterlife served a purpose and had some backstory or character developements.

And finally can you explain to me why Wesker goes from President or Chairman with Superpowers to a regular expendable employee that die like a whimp?

Im sorry but yes i do enjoy some of the work from Paul, like Deathrace, i actually like that movie, i even liked the first AVP believe ir or not. But this series it started wrong and just simply kept digging its hole

And if its true video game movies in general are usually bad, there is proof they can be semi ok, i mean even Paul effort on Mortal Kombat despite some flaws was very ok.

Alice is the worst character of all time, she need to die in the last movie. Chris/Jill are RE !!!
