they relized there are people who like third person perspective, so that means we might play those types of games again in RE Revelations style game .at the same time, RE8 gameplay depends from the suceess of RE7 and if the game recieved well . and so far the fans like it so we might play RE8 in FP again with new features like how RE5 was improvement to RE4.

Isn't Resident Evil 7 already declared a smash hit and well praised? Being in first person brings more scare imo. Unless they can pull a Dead Space, third person can also be pretty horror, but it's a lot tougher.

Plus I want them to milk the PS VR experience. RE7 is a really scary ride when you're actually in the game. Sometimes you have to realize it's not real and pause the screen haha!

EDIT: read the interview again and noticed that Capcom hinted RE8 might come out in 2021 or 2022. I hope it's the former because it will mark 25th anniversary of the series.

I'm positive we're getting RE2 Remake in 2018. Unless they're already developing it too we'll probably be getting a RE3 Remake in 2019 and maybe a RECV Remake orRevelations 3 if they still wanna continue with that in 2020.

Yea they probably gonna be focusing on classic games then after that re8 will go back to first person camera so yea 2021 will sounds about right for release date.

I finished the game already and people curious can look on youtube for the full walkthrough. The main character Ethan doesn't have a face, it never shows in the game. Is just a floating arm.

Capcom intended to sell 4M copies of the game by March 31. So far they shipped 2.5M but didn't sell yet.

It only sucks because we don't care about Ethan, nor the Bakers. Another troublesome I had with the game was the enemies. It kind of felt repetitious fighting the same damn creatures over and over. Then sometimes even spawning over four at once.

It felt like Revelations a little bit. They couldn't have at least one zombie in the game? When you got to the ship, there were many dead bodies lying around. Why couldn't they take advantage of it? It was a let down not seeing them come to life.

The puzzles and the horror aspect of the game was flawless. I loved the mansion(s) and then the ship. Even though the storyline had little to none about Umbrella, it was still fun to play through.

I hope in Resident Evil 8, they at least bring back some characters we know and love and have it tie in with Umbrella somehow. Revelations 1 and 2 were fun and a great way to revive the franchise, but they felt like a spin off more than a continuation of the series and now Resident Evil 7 strayed even further away from that.

LOL no, can't you read? The game didn't sell 250M copies yet, it shipped 2M and 500k copies but that doesn't mean that they sold yet. A lot of stores got the game but the game could still be on their shelves to be sold yet.

Their goal is to sell 4 Millions copies of the game. So far they shipped 2 millions and 500 thousands of copies of the game.

Incorrection. 75 something sold. Wait, their is 400 Million copies isn't it? So yeh thats 75 copies sold so far. Okay, A lot more copies to be sold but again that was like the first week or two. Still plenty of time. RE5 and RE6 also sold around this much the first weeks. Capcom have already made a statement that they're happy with the sales so far.

Do people not realize the third person, fixed camera angle is nothing more but a technological artifact more than anything? It was used because the Capcom game engines back then couldn't rely on huge dynamic free environments; everything had to be pre-rendered to accommodate sprite limits.

It's just nothing but a nostalgic factor that holds little to no merit in practicality.

RE7 was really weak. I feel like it is the worse resident evil game ever made. Boring Ethan that doesn't even have a face. Capcom had such a small budge to do this game that they didn't even give Ethan a face.

Not giving Ethan a face has nothing to do with budget. It's a long standing trope of first-person games. See Halo and the Master Chief. Or the protagonists of the Outlast games. Or Amensia or Machine for Pigs. Etc, the list can go on a long way.

And that bit about him just being floating arms, that's just in VR. If you play the game the normal way he's fully animated.
