Resident Evil: The Final Chapter : Don't get the hate. It's one of the best in the series.

Don't get the hate. It's one of the best in the series.

This is not meant to be an Oscar movie, it's just a brainless action horror flick.. and most of all, its good. It's perhaps my second favourite in the series after the original, which this movie paid a ton of homages to. To be honest, all the RE movies bar this and the first one are crap. The 3rd one was passable, but the others are crap.

Yeah its The Matrix with zombies, but compared to the crappy selection of big budget genre films we have had over the past 8 months, this is one of the best. It's better than the new Underworld film and the Ghostbusters reboot, plus even BvS and Suicide Squad. Some plot holes and cheesy scenes aside this was a fun film, and it had plenty of heart and a lot of nostalgia. Plus the twist was cool.

Re: Don't get the hate. It's one of the best in the series.

As a fan of the series (they were all pretty cool cheezy fun)

I was dissapointed by this movie.

The action scenes were poorly edited so much of the time you couldn't tell what was going on. The whole movie (bar about 3 moments) took itself way to seriously.
And it was TOO DAMN DARK. Especially compared to the lovely sharp and vibrant Retribution.

None of the characters bar Alice, Wesker & Issacs were anything at all.

(the movie needed more wesker)

I watched the first three films in quick succession, I was late to the party, waited a couple months for 4, was fun, waited 2 years for Retribution, not a lot to it but filled my expectation. Waited 4 and a half years for this, let me down hard.

I know it's not the first time they have totally bactracked immediately on promises from the end of the last film. But at least with the million alices we had the cool opening scene for Retribution.

This? Wee just find out that off screen Wesker returned to the bad guys, didn't give her her powers back and killed off all the other cast. OFF SCREEN.

Even if you hate Uwe Boll, give Postal a try, be offended or entertained.

Expectations were high. I think in ten years most fans will appreciate this film a lot more. I mean, it's not like it went Blade Trinity mode. It's pretty good.

Re: Don't get the hate. It's one of the best in the series.

Agree 100%. This was the best in the series. I found it stayed true to the series, and plenty of excellent moments, such as the "You are all going to die down here!"going back to Raccoon City and the Hivegood stuff! I had a blast watching this in IMAX.

Plenty of intense scenes with the monsters/environment. The monsters were creepy as ever

Don't get too upsetmost people are privileged whiny babies anymore and will specifically look to complain about everything.

Couldn't agree more !

I don't know what goes their minds. After five films, do they expect this film to be flawless? No matter what Paul does, they whine about something. I appreciate all the hard work and effort going into this film, minus the continuity errors. Some of the action sequences were very intense and the most fast paced ever for any RE film. Instead they whine because it's not in slow motion.

Re: Don't get the hate. It's one of the best in the series.

Glad you liked it! It's my favorite movie of the franchise, that's for sure! It was amazing. People just don't realize this Final Chapter is about Alice, not the other characters. When Alice has hogged up the past 5 films, I don't know why people expected Leon, Ada and Jill to have their moment to overshadown in this finale.

Paul probably saved The White House battle for future sequels, when they do a flashback of them characters, if they don't reboot it with new characters.

Re: Don't get the hate. It's one of the best in the series.

I'm not an action movie fan. I tend to get more bored with them the older I get, but as someone who has grown up with this franchise, this movie to me was a lot of fun. Its not perfect as some of the editing was a little jarring as I personally hate action scenes filled with too many jump cuts where you can't see anything. However its still an exciting movie. I was engaged from start to finish.

However, I hope they end it here and make no more sequels. It was a nice send off. The zombie plague is in the process of being destroyed, and Alice's story has come full circle from the moment she woke up in the shower with amnesia to now.

I'm with You IT this, these new action movies are be released, they started to boring me,i'm not impresed so much anymore, but i have waited the final chapter for 4 years and i enjoi IT every second of it.

The extraordinary is in what we do,not who we are

Re: Don't get the hate. It's one of the best in the series.

Have to disagree this to me was definitely the worst in the series for me, it literally became the Resident Evil 6 of the movies, it was loud, dumb and took itself too seriously.

My biggest gripes with this are the fact that half the characters are written out with no explanation. Jill,Leon,Chris would it be too hard to include them in the stronghold scene and have them hold the fort or send them off somewhere else if you want to devote this to Alice.

The story and characters that were included are just a mess.

So were not going to find out what happened in Washington and how Wesker betrayed them?

So it turns out James Marcus invented the T Virus and Not Dr Ashford?

Wesker and Issacs defending the hive is just straight up baffling, so you decide to unleash your dogs but don't bother TO SHUT THE FRONT *beep* DOOR BEFOREHAND!?

Turning on the fan to suck them in was a good idea, so why turn it off after it got one of them, just keep it on for half an hour and even if they survive, tough titties the settlements are destroyed anyway.

Why in the vent scene is there one human sized trap door and 2-3 in the side ?! HAVE THE ENTIRE FLOOR JUST GIVE WAY, BOOM! DONE !

Don't even get me started on the religious sub text but the only thing i liked is how they handled Alice's story and finished it up.

Re: Don't get the hate. It's one of the best in the series.

I still think it had its moments of knowing humour. But most were to do with the Isaacs clones, who really chewed the scenery like a James Bond villain. His paranoia that the others in the tank would follow his orders.. so he kills them all made me chortle.

Yes, of course it was contrived that they could keep surviving the traps and that, but it was just typical one-by-one bumping off tropes.. And we needed that showdown with the original Isaacs. It was just computer game logic.. each level gets harder.
