Computers and Software : Any Computer Experts?

Any Computer Experts?

Being stuck at home sucks, especially with 10 days of flu. ESPECIALLY when my laptop barely works. I constantly get "Not Responding", despite not making any changes. I even downloaded 2 free anti-virus programs (malwarebtes and AVG), and they found nothing.. I can't even play a fucking simple song (winamp) or videos of my own….. I tried re-setting my computer (through Recovery) and it didn't work, and said no changes, but that was bullshit.. My search is fucked. I really hate "new" shit. Vista was just fine, as was XP.

Here's the way it should look (from an old laptop), except the shit on the right (folder)

As opposed to now.. I just want it to search the content in the folder. Also don't know how the shit on the right appeared. I took my old laptop, and hit "options" and tried to basically copy the settings, but it didn't work.

Anyway, I'd appreciate any help. Thanks

BTW, imgur sucks

@rouge you stupid palestinian, this music man needs your juden husbands help!

Re: Any Computer Experts?

The "Not Responding" is usually down to RAM issues and is easily corrected by using lighter (And better) programs.

Download Microsoft Security Essentials (Direct download of MSE from M$).

Uninstall your two other "Antivirus programs" and then install MSE (May require a restart after each uninstall and/or install).

Download VideoLAN (Direct link to download button of VLC from them) and install that.

There will be an option to change your default music and video player to VLC, use it.

This will free up RAM and better provide you with resources and if you like VLC then uninstall Winamp.

As for your search having a dropdown on the right, I've no idea. I don't do personalised settings regarding GUI but I'm sure someone else does and can verify my information regarding sorting out your RAM issues.

LOL. 🤡🌎

Re: Any Computer Experts?

I've been using winamp for years, because it barely uses up any RAM. Probably 20 years!

I actually installed the anti-virus one at a time, used it, deleted… and again. But, malwarebytes froze or something, and it won't uninstall correctly.

I'll download The Essentials - thanks!

Re: Any Computer Experts?

i agree that it's a ram issue, and installing and running anti-virus programs will actually make that problem worse

Re: Any Computer Experts?

you misread. After it was freezing, I installed malwarbytes.. Scanned, restarted to see if there was a difference, and when there wasn't, I uninstalled, restarted, and installed AVG - same shit.

Re: Any Computer Experts?

shit, it won't let me install because I already have (and used) Windows Defender, as well as uninstalling every program I could, defrag, disk cleanup, scandisk, etc

Re: Any Computer Experts?

You could try Windows Defender program again I suppose.

It's difficult to know what the issue here is without knowing your hardware system, operating system, additional peripherals (Such as external hard drives) and literacy on Windows systems.

There will be a solution to this

LOL. 🤡🌎

Re: Any Computer Experts?

Do you have/use a good cleaner? IObit's Advanced SystemCare Free has been working flawlessly for me for years.

He meant what percentage of it was being used at the time.

Man, so sensitive. Sorry I hurt your feelings. But you should know the % changes every second. Within 10 seconds, it goes from 17% to 100%, to 54%, and I have nothing open buy Task Manager (obviously) and this one page.

Re: Any Computer Experts?

No worries, I've also been in a "mood", along with billions of others. It's extra frustrating to be sick, and to have this relatively new laptop (which is kinda my life) not working despite spending all day trying everything, uninstalling programs, only to re-install worse versions because I un-grandfathered myself.

Re: Any Computer Experts?

Locate your System32 folder [C:\Windows\System32] and delete it. Probably need to be logged in as an administrator.

Re: Any Computer Experts?

I am logged in as Admin.

Deleting system32 would fuck everything up

I uninstalled Windows Updates, and the videos played SO much better, so be careful installing that crap.
