Arrival : Vs Interstellar

I know the two are very different in terms of setting and premise.

BUT

As a science fiction, drama and film in general, which stands out more?

Di di di di da da dey I'll be your friend, I can be your homie.

Interstellar. Despite some sloppy science (ice clouds, time going slower on the planet than in the spaceship orbiting it, surviving the event horizon of a black hole etc.), the story is a little bit smarter, intriguing and adventurous than Arrival. Also the directing and music is better imo.

Arrival is a 1 week old rating so may change once settled in. I was disappointed coming back from the cinema. Arrival is good, but not great. Ironically, upon reaching home, the first thing I did was play Interstellar on the Blu-ray just to remind me how a brilliant sci-fi film should be.

I really enjoyed Arrival. I though Interstellar was boring. My two pence.

9 for both loved every second of arrival and interstellar

Of course "Interstellar"! "Arrival" will be forgotten in a year. Intertellas is 8-9/10 Arrival is 3-4/10

interstellar is better because it at least paid attention to science. arrival just threw science (and logic) out the window and focused on emotional impact.

Arrival by far.

Interstellar tries so hard to be deep and thoughtful and intelligent, whereas Arrival actually was deep, thoughtful, and intelligent.

Plus, Arrival was so much smaller and contained, a much more intimate experience than Interstellar, despite the fantastic performances from McConaughey, Chastain, and Hathaway.

There is another reason to fill your heart with hatred.

because the twist made a little less sense in Arrival IMO
both twists are of course pure science-fiction, but the one in Arrival just disappointed me slightly. I am talking about the fact that by mastering a particular language you can perceive the future right
