Asian Jazz

Jazz, but with traditional Japanese instruments. It's a beautiful album.

Re: Asian Jazz

I had no idea that genre even existed. Thanks. I kind of like it.

Re: Asian Jazz

Are there any more artists from this genre you can share with us?

Re: Asian Jazz

Hiroshima - Kokoro (funkier)

さくら(Sakura) 25絃箏 (more traditional)

Kim Jung Mi - Towards The Sunlight (beautiful vocalist)

Hozan Yamamoto + Masabumi Kikuchi - A Heavy Shower (free jazz)

Re: Asian Jazz

Hiroshima Kokoro(funkier) sounded like Asian Jazz. The other videos did not. I kind of enjoyed the last two videos.

Re: Asian Jazz

Yeah, seems like they had just enough bamboo, etc., to be Japanese.

Re: Asian Jazz

You know more about it than I do.

Re: Asian Jazz

Very different and I think I could only enjoy it for a short while.

Re: Asian Jazz

Jazz has always been one of those music genres that I can only enjoy for a short while. I haven't exactly figured out why that is.

Re: Asian Jazz

I know what you mean. I seem to like jazz when its dark outside. And even then, I prefer it to be instrumental with slow-tempo.
