Travel and Recreation : if there is a new zealand, where is old zealand?
Re: if there is a new zealand, where is old zealand?
Zealand is a large island that’s part of Denmark. It’s home to the capital, Copenhagen, and the city of Roskilde. Small towns and villages occupy the north, south and west coasts, which are popular holiday areas with sandy beaches and fjords. In the south, the towering white Møn’s Klint and Stevns Klint are fossil-rich cliffs with views of the Baltic Sea.

Wow, NZer, you're a kiwi so who am I to question you? But that doesn't square with this. It says it's Dutch.

The name New Zealand originated with Dutch cartographers, who called the islands Nova Zeelandia, after the Dutch province of Zeeland. … British explorer James Cook subsequently anglicised the name to New Zealand. There is no connection to the Danish island Zealand.

He asked where old Zealand was! Not how New Zealand was named. Stop trying to be controversial or I'll rape your butt!
