The Magnificent Seven : Prime Rib vs Applebees Steak
Re: Prime Rib vs Applebees Steak
Prime Rib is at a Supperclub. It's usually either over or undercooked and often has tons of extra fat.
Often, the best steak is at the worst restaurant. All you need is the right cook. Best prime rib I ever had was cooked out of a home kitchen in the back of a resort. The worst prime rib was from a good restaurant.
The analogy doesn't match. The worst steak I've ever eaten was at Pittsburgh Blue and cost $35. Somehow, it was just simply pointless. Ordered rare, served rare, yet still nonsense.
Best steak I ever had was at my own home. Salt, pepper, 2 minutes first side on a smoking pan, 2 minutes on the other. Blow torch to char. AKA as close to actual Pittsburgh Blue as I could do.
This thread is now about steaks.

Pisanos in richmond Illinois. Best fn steak ive ever had. Kobe beef. Totally charred and candied outside. Medium rare/rare inside. It falls apart in your mouth.
