TV General : American Gothic (1995)

American Gothic (1995)

Sean Cassidy and Sam Raimi were responsible for this amazing and superb show. It really needs to be discussed, because it fulfilled all my specifications for a truly unforgettable viewing experience.

Everything is not what it seems in Trinity, South Carolina. Sheriff Lucas Buck develops a sinister interest in Caleb. Caleb's cousin Gail tries to protect him, but that's complicated since she has feelings for Sheriff Buck. And Caleb's dead sister, Merlyn, returns as an angel, warning him that Buck is an incarnation of evil - and may not be human.

Re: American Gothic (1995)

I saw Invasion too, and I feel that it had a lot more story to tell.

Re: American Gothic (1995)

I love all things Raimi/Tapert, so you know I've seen this.

I love some parts of this show, but it really feels like they weren't sure which direction to take it in. It had potential, but just never got there….

Re: American Gothic (1995)

Maybe you felt like that because they mixed up the episodes so badly on the DVD's.

This guy explains it all:-

Re: American Gothic (1995)

I watched on Hulu, but also researched the order and watched them correctly.

I am a dick. I've always been a dick.

Re: American Gothic (1995)

OK.. I had to go back and watch them again when I found out previously that they were out of order!

Re: American Gothic (1995)

No Herc/Xena alumni in this one except for Bruce Campbell and Ted Raimi….

Re: American Gothic (1995)

No, but the rest of the cast was so good!

Re: American Gothic (1995)

I remember watching that as a kid when it first aired, farrrrk.

Re: American Gothic (1995)

Was n love with the sexy, bad-girl teacher.

Re: American Gothic (1995)

I was in love with Lucas.

Re: American Gothic (1995)

He did have sort of a Don-like animal magnetism and charisma.

Re: American Gothic (1995)

Frankly, I can't see it..

Re: American Gothic (1995)

True, he doesn't hold a candle to the Lover-in-Chief.

But Gary Cole is a great actor, and he's done it all in terms of roles.

Re: American Gothic (1995)

I miss this and Firefly. =(

Re: American Gothic (1995)

Me too. Firefly may have been Joss Whedon's best work. I loved every minute of it. Did you see 'Serenity' the movie?

Re: American Gothic (1995)

It was a great show.

Filmed in 4:3 ratio though and so looks more dated than it needs to.

It didn't end as great as it started but was still massively enjoyable.

LOL. 🤡🌎
