Cats : Black female lead for film version of Cats!

Black female lead for film version of Cats!

She's also a prinicipal ballerina for the Royal Ballet?! Awesome! The Royal Ballet is my favorite ballet company. She is among the greatest ballet dancers to have ever dance for the company! Like Markarova, Nureyev, Fonteyn, Bussel, Markarova, Ulanova, Nunez etc…

One day, I will watch one of their live productions. Hopefully when the company goes to The Met.

Jennifer Hudson sings Memory

Hey Diddler, Diddler….the cat and the fiddler LOL

Re: Black female lead for film version of Cats!

Okay. I was never a big fan of Hudson anyway.

Re: Black female lead for film version of Cats!

It is a beautiful, yet sad song. I give Jennifer credit even though I'm not her fan. Jennifer sings it perfectly with a little soul.

Why does it make you cry? It doesn't make me cry.

Re: Black female lead for film version of Cats!

She doesn't look black to me. She don't even look tan. Wtf?

Re: Black female lead for film version of Cats!

I know. She could pass for white. She is black though. Confirmed.

Re: Black female lead for film version of Cats!

So am I for more reasons than just her in the lead role of Cats.

You should see her repetoire for The Royal Ballet! She's danced as principal ballerina in nearly every one of their major ballet productions. Hard choreography, let me tell you…

Her skill is exquisite. She's a far superior black ballerina than our American couterpart at ABT.

Re: Black female lead for film version of Cats!

It's amazing she looks white! You can kinda tell though she's not Asian, for instance.

I know the NYC Ballet had the same Clara 3 years in a row I think and made a DVD with the boy from Home Alone.

That woman is maybe 10% "black" at most. Until they put a real black woman in the role they haven't done shit.

But but, she's the same color as me, and both of my parents are black.

Although she's biracial.

She's no Nubian princess, but she'd fit right in with us Creoles.

Re: Black female lead for film version of Cats!

I've read that Africans consider African-Americans to be mixed race, not black.

You don't read. You're mentally handicapped.

Re: Black female lead for film version of Cats!

That's true. In Africa we would be considered "colored", which is their descriptive term for mixed. Mainly, because most multigenerational African-Americans who are descendants of slaves, have at the least 23% European ancestry. Many of us have a higher percentage than that (such as Creoles). So yeah, unless you are of the Gullah/Geechee culture, you're considered a mutt, basically.

Have you ever been to New Orleans?

Re: Black female lead for film version of Cats!

Not really. I went to attend a Ball decades ago, but I never got to stick around and actually go out and about. We flew to Atlanta shortly after that, which I enjoyed. I would soooo love to truly visit NOLA, especially with all of my interests, I think I'd have a total blast!

Re: Black female lead for film version of Cats!

You can visit a voodoo priestess and get your fortune told while you are there! Or visit the French Quarter and sample some of NOLA's world famous cuisine. If you decide to take a stroll down Bourbon or Beale street, do it during the day. Things tend to get a bit rowdy at night.

Oh absolutely! I would want to spend a lot of time exploring as well as eating. There's so much that draws me to New Orleans. I love the cultural aspects!

Re: Black female lead for film version of Cats!

Lol, I enjoyed visiting New Orleans! A couple of my favorite things about that place are pastries called beignets, and the numerous tourist street performers on Bourbon Street. As you said though, I don’t think that I’d ever want to step out on the banquets at night there, especially by a pub. A lot of interesting characters roam around at night there.

I haven't been in a while, but I have a sibling who visits faithfully every year. I'd always lock my purse in the trunk and just take what I needed out of it. Beignets are to die for, but can't eat too many.

The last time we were there, my young cousin was with us. I remember everyone walking past a window with a topless girl dancing on the bar. We just glanced in for a sec and kept walking until we realized that my young cousin was missing! As we were frantically looking around and searching for his whereabouts, his older brother found him firmly planted in front of the bar window still staring at that half naked girl. LOL

Agreed, and with the amount of con-artists that try to vacuum people’s valuables there through the act of pickpocketing there, that’s a brilliant move. And I agree about Beignets as well, and the individuals who are Cajun there get to enjoy them for breakfast with strawberry dipping sauce, lol.

Lmfao! I’ve noticed that the bartenders, along with are often more lenient towards what they allow for their intoxicated customers to do in these types of areas. It sounds like he was in for a lovely time. It reminds of the time when I visited a bar there directly after a Saints game, where a group of drunk women celebrate went topless to flash a bit of “Saint” pride in gold, right on top of a counter there chanting “Who Dat?”. The crazy shit that goes on in downtown sometimes adds entertainment. Never would I live there though.

Re: Black female lead for film version of Cats!

The next time you visit, can you have one of the priestess' put a curse on Donkey? Thanks!

It wouldn't be NOLA culture without a few topless drunk girls running around. Lol

Sure, lol. Although, I think that the priestess who waved her wand to cast a lifelong curse that enables that Donkey to talk, with an extra special magic trick that forces her head disappear whenever it opens that trap of her’s deserves some bad fortune as well.

Her mom is black. Her father is white.

Re: Black female lead for film version of Cats!

Just chiming in to say she could very well be the most beautiful woman I have seen in a long time. Her face is flawless. Her skin is impeccable. Her voice is delicate.

Not that it's relevant, but she doesn't look black; she seems so far removed from black culture. She'd get her ass kicked if she said "nigga" in the hood. Neckas would think she was a white gurl. She gotta white gurl nose and voice. If she was my girlfriend, I honestly wouldn't feel like I'm dating a "black person."

It's almost an insult to blacks to call her black because none of the systemic and institutional racism that currently exists would ever apply to her, and she certainly wouldn't be declined from a job due to her color, have security cameras watch her in stores, nor unfairly targeted by police looking like that.

Would marry 10/10.
