I heard a funny fact the other day.

If you exercise hard, afterward it's healthier for you to drink chocolate milk over a sugary sports drink like Gatorade.

Reason being is that Gatorade is pretty much sugar and water, whereas chocolate milk has sugar, protein, and other things in it.

A study proved it looking at nutrition. It's healthier to drink chocolate milk after a workout than Gatorade. I thought it was funny.

Gatorade isn't a healthy drink at all. They spoofed it in Idiocracy (2006).

I feel as though going Bear Grylls would be healthier than drinking Gatorade after a workout.

Yeah, I heard that on the news yesterday too.

Gatorade is a joke as it's just sugar. There really isn't that much in the way of electrolytes. Same thing as eating a banana, there isn't really that much potassium in there.

After a workout, you DO actually want to get your blood sugar into your system quickly because you've just depleted everything by working out. Unlike a pre-workout shake which should have fat in it so that energy is released more slowly during your workout.

Milk isn't exactly a healthy drink anyway.

Have you tried oat milk? I've just replaced soy for oats

I try to avoid soy.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen oat milk.

I've tried help milk, almond milk, coconut milk.

I'm a fan of coconut milk so far. I'll check out oat milk though. Does it have a lot of carbs in it? What does it taste like?

Lol I’ve never had a problem with Gatorade. I prefer Body Armor instead though. Less sugar and it really invigorates you to tackle the day after a rigorous morning sex sesh!

Yeah after anaerobic exercise you want simple sugars and protein. Milk protein isn't ideal post workout since it takes longer to break down, which is why a whey protein is typically superior to caseinate postworkout. You want a fast absorbing protein because you experience elevated protein synthesis for several hours after heavy exertion. You need the simple sugars along with the protein during this period. A banana and whey protein powder would be ideal.

A lot of powerlifters and strongmen eat candy postworkout or even intraworkout since lifting uses so many resources.
