Better Off Dead (1985)

This is one of those neurotically preternatural, manic-depressive romantic dramas, starring a youthful version of John Cusack with the hair gel before his golden era. It’s glossed over because of the uncanny visuals, with it being an underrated work of art. Who remembers this movie?

I do, I saw it when it came out. Not as good as The Sure Thing

I didn't like it. Thank god Cusack matured well.

Richard Linklater directed Everybody Wants Some!!! (2016), and it's set in the 1980s, the same decade Better Off Ted came out.

Re: Better Off Dead (1985)

Yeah. Dazed and Confused (1993) is better. Matthew McConaughey is awesome as usual and I love that line of his:
"There's something about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age."-talking about feeling old!!!

I saw it back then but can't remember it because it was so long ago

That's a real shame when people be throwin' away a perfectly good white boy!

I do remember this. It's not great, but it is funny, and I'm a big fan of Jon Cusack.
