Does committing a crime waive anti doxxing laws?

Like if you kill someone, or say you stalk a world famous physicist and are all over the news, something like that, is it doxxing if someone posts your pic?

It is doxxing

Re: Does committing a crime waive anti doxxing laws?

Doxxing is doxxing, justification doesn't equal changing the definition.

Re: Does committing a crime waive anti doxxing laws?

So if it turned out one of the users here was Osama Bin Laden, his pic could be posted on literally every other site, but this one?

Re: Does committing a crime waive anti doxxing laws?

If the rule is no doxxing, then yes. You've attempted to change the question into one of morality instead of one of definition. Fail.

Re: Does committing a crime waive anti doxxing laws?

The question was the same one posed in the OP, just with different framing. It is a question of logic.

Re: Does committing a crime waive anti doxxing laws?

Yes, it is, but you're the one failing to grasp the logic.

We all have information about us online, I'm sure. Who gets to decide when that information can be shared here? You say 'a crime'. What level of crime? A speeding ticket?

Nobody here has the power to decide where the moral boundary lies, which is why the rule is black and white.

That’s Nimda and the real goal of the thread is to defend Erica’s right to doxx. She didn’t get a link ban for dropping G’s name x3 either. Yesterday threads saying she was doxxing Spacebunny were deleted in minutes.

Re: Does committing a crime waive anti doxxing laws?

I think we all know the point of the thread.

Re: Does committing a crime waive anti doxxing laws?

Then how much more should the threat of a serious crime waive the no doxxing rule? Itty says he’s going to illegally get a user’s info and has threatened to kill her.

Can we post his shit? We gotta stay ahead of it, people.

Re: Does committing a crime waive anti doxxing laws?

If there are news articles in major newspapers saying "Filmboarder Itty has been arrested for apparent death threats", then sure, doxx away.

Re: Does committing a crime waive anti doxxing laws?

Why is protecting his privacy put before protecting someone’s right to live?

There isn’t a step 2 between threatening to stalk and kill and then doing it. the next escalation is carrying it out. We’ll know he was serious or not if he actually kills her.

Itty says he’s going to illegally get a user’s info and has threatened to kill her.

I wouldn't kill G. The world's more interesting with her in it.

Re: Does committing a crime waive anti doxxing laws?

Doxxing is the publishing of private information. When you commit a crime you become a public figure.

Re: Does committing a crime waive anti doxxing laws?
