NYPD Blue : I've been watching reruns of this show.

I've been watching reruns of this show.

I never paid attention to it in the 90's though everyone babbled about David Caruso, as if. This is a great show actually. The realism in dialog is spot on. I did some googling and learned it's considered to be a pioneer work for television.

I get annoyed that they show cops getting physically abusive with suspects though. That's illegal and I think normalizing it only makes real life cops think it's okay to beat the truth out of people.

The whole reason to be a cop is so you can beat the shit out of people.

My brother in law is a cop. Most police don't cross that line.

Wasn’t Catbug in love with Caruso? I know some female poster was.

I like him in CSI Miami

Your second paragraph is why you weren't part of the demo audience and I was.

No, in the 90's I actually fucked that gay blond guy who played the office secretary.

Are you serious? I know he was Gay in real life. But where did you meet him?

And don't say at a dungeon in Encino.

Re: I've been watching reruns of this show.

I was into some cop shows, such as this one, then I pretty much gave up on them after what happened IRL with G. Floyd.

The only ones I still care for are Columbo and Barney Miller where they treat everyone, even the suspects, with respect and don't abuse them.

As for Blue, you brought up Caruso.
Ever notice that he acts the same in every role on every show he is in?
He tries to underplay it but he ends up overacting!
He thought his shit didn't stink so he leaves and turns out to fail in movies.
At least that is why I think he left.

Re: I've been watching reruns of this show.

My family saw him at a Sons of Italy gathering at some park in Cali

Re: I've been watching reruns of this show.

We loved NYPD, but wanted to smack David Caruso. Glad he fucked himself out of a job!

Be careful out there.

Re: I've been watching reruns of this show.

Me to.
He is just so terrible.
And he was such a D Bag thinking he is too good for his own underwear.
You can read all about that, why he left, how he failed at movies etc here.

Re: I've been watching reruns of this show.

i hated caruso from the first time i saw his red headed face in Rambo: first blood. my hate only got worse when he was a irish gang leader on Hill street blues.

but i was wrong. the guy's a very good actor.

i liked denis franz- also from HSB- and jimmy smits.

kim delaney can handcuff me and police brutalize me any time my Miranda rights notwithstanding.

LOL
Seriously?
Porn stars act better than this one note.

If he is as good as you think then he would be a household name movie star.

Re: I've been watching reruns of this show.

The show still stands the test of time because that's how good quality works. :)
