Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones : when will these movies stop?

when will these movies stop?

Since the first movie I have always found these movies hokey. There not scary at all. In fact they insult the viewer. This one was by first the worst. At least in the second one ole dude got he neck broke. This one had the guy torturing a poor chihuahua. Animal cruelty isn't funny unless or entertaining. This is what we can get from Hollywood now a days. *beep* home video movies and god awful remakes

Re: when will these movies stop?

You do realize that the dog really wasn't injured, right?

Re: when will these movies stop?

Of course but that's still not entertaining

Re: when will these movies stop?

Maybe not for you but for someone else it may have added to their experience. The greatest thing about movies isn't how well they entertain you, it's that they give you free will to go see them or not. It's all up to you.

Re: when will these movies stop?

Quit complaining, nobody is forcing you to watch them.

Re: when will these movies stop?

They do when Hollywood can't produce anything interesting

Re: when will these movies stop?

There are plenty of interesting films that come out every year.
I find this "Hollywood doesn't make anything good" mentality interesting. It always comes up during the summer blockbusters and the countless horror flicks that get put out, but when the hard-hitters come out during award season, nobody says a thing.

But the answer your question, the end game isn't in sight, but the director says there is an end game planned. I mean, there is an internal story throughout the series that's being told, after all. Number 3 and Marked Ones give the most insight to the story than the others, but it's there.

But it's like that other dude said: nobody's forcing you to sit down and watch these. You make a choice to. You can choose not to watch them. There are plenty of other movies out there to watch.

Just because you're too stupid to understand it, doesn't mean it's a plot hole

Re: when will these movies stop?

These are discussion boards. Not everyone is going to like what you like, everyone shold complain about bad movies to keep the discussion moving. How boring would it be if everyone liked every movie?

Anyways, not terrible but mediocre and wasn't really entertained until the last 20 minutes or so. I rate it 5/10.

Re: when will these movies stop?

It's entirely your choice whether to watch these films or not, being the fifth one you'd have thought that by now you knew what they were like so in all fairness it's your own fault. Simple solution is to not watch them if they are still being made.

Well said.

Re: when will these movies stop?

Any decent human being had a problem with that scene of the dog being hurt. Of course the dog was actually fine, the point of the scene though was to show Jesse, who loved his dog, suddenly found it hilarious he was intentionally hurting that same dog. It was meant to be disturbing and show he was completely gone at that point. You don't have to be an "animal lover freak" to realize that scene was messed up. But it's good to know you were cool with that scene. Guess we know who the freak is here.

This. That was the point of the scene and yes, it was hard to watch.

Re: when will these movies stop?

As long as you keep watching them, they'll keep making them. It's like feeding the bear that keeps coming to your yard, then complaining to animal control about there being a bear in your yard.

Why do people so frequently get told to "read the book" on a movie database?

Re: when will these movies stop?

They'll stop when the box office returns fall below the budget costs.

Re: when will these movies stop?

Got that right. $15M budget returning well over 100% (not to mention syndication) isn't a bad venture. What the heck. It's a movie, and entertainment.

Re: when will these movies stop?

You hate every Paranormal Activity movie and yet have watched each one? And then you come here to complain at how insanely BAD they ALL are! Why are you watching movies that you hate?? You're either lying, or completely stupid.

Re: when will these movies stop?

They will stop making them when people stop watching them.
YOU have seen all 5 Paranormal Activity films, yes?
And when part six comes out you'll see that one too.
Then you'll come on imdb and make another incoherent post filled with spelling and grammatical errors about how bad these movies are.
Cuz you are a moron.

Re: when will these movies stop?

Sorry to be that guy, but Marked Ones isn't really the 5th movie. It's more like 4.5, and The Ghost Dimension will be number 5.

Re: when will these movies stop?

I disagree it's well deserving of being a numbered entry.

Re: when will these movies stop?

It'll stop when people stop watching the movies. It's simple supply and demand. Idk why people even ask questions like this. It's a waste.

Re: when will these movies stop?

People keep asking questions like this because they can't believe that they're still making these POS sequels.

Re: when will these movies stop?

From ghoulies and ghosties and long-legged beasties and things that go bump in the night and Paranormal Activity movies may the good Lord deliver us.

I know these films are going to be a steaming pile of manure before I watch them. It's the ultimate triumph of hope over experience.

Re: when will these movies stop?

Agreee

Re: when will these movies stop?

When they can no longer turn a profit. I think at some point, the "found footage" concept (I can't believe this Blair Witch concept is still up and running) will dry out as a theatrical attraction. But as long as they keep making them for $5 million or less and keep the mythology going or make another equally interesting one, I would think they'll just keep spinning them off.

Re: when will these movies stop?

When will they stop making them? When audiences are no longer willing to pay good money to see something they've already seen. And that's exactly what they're doing whether they'll admit it or not, not just with PA, but with any horror franchise. The names and locations may change, but the story is always the same. And a lot of the newer ones are just thinly disguised reboots of older ones. For example, 'Wrong Turn' and its sequels are just 'The Hills Have Eyes' with a new coat of paint.

Horror franchises are why we have BitTorrent. <G>

Re: when will these movies stop?

Yes it seems that if anything makes even a little bit of money now they assume it means people want a sequel. It's fine for a movie to be a standalone project. Not everything needs to be a franchise. And I'm talking in general; not specifically this series. That being said I think there should be 2 or 3 more movies on this franchise to tie all the details together (and explain the confusing parts of the plot) and show what ultimately happens to the characters. If there are 12 Friday the 13th movies, 10 Halloween movies, 9 Children of the Corn movies, 9 Nightmare on Elm Street movies, 9 Hellraiser movies, etc. then a few more of this series won't hurt anyone. Don't like them, don't watch.

Re: when will these movies stop?

TO be fair, another reason is the backstory is kind of interesting and fans want to see what the conclustion will be now though they are kind of dragging it out.

Re: when will these movies stop?

Aww, yes I was also very concerned with the animal cruelty in this film. I cried as I could not bear to see the poor animal in pain like you.

I'm sure, like me, you are totally vegan and do not ever eat any meat products neither wear leather as obviously you are not one of those many typical animal rights screaming hypocrites; as obviously, cows, pigs, sheep, chicken are all animals too and anyone eating meat is basically partaking in animal cruelty also....

Re: when will these movies stop?

PISS OFF, some of us like them, you are not forced to watch them! Tell me what your fave franchise is and I will go to that board and whine about why they keep on making them!

Re: when will these movies stop?

You could just stop watching them, if you don't like them...

Re: when will these movies stop?

Just because you don't like them doesn't mean other people don't either. Everyone has their own opinion, and if you hate these movies so much, don't watch them or even bother bitching and crying on a message board.

Re: when will these movies stop?

wait what? "animal cruelty isnt funny unless its entertaining" I know thats not what you meant but I laughed aaaaaaahahah!@!!!
