Science : Insects are disappearing
Re: Insects are disappearing
Good!
Re: Insects are disappearing
I don't believe that. The insects will still be here after we're gone.

Re: Insects are disappearing
Don't believe what? Insects don't have to become extinct for there to be devastating effects on the ecosystem.

I don't believe they're disappearing. As I said, they will be here after we're gone.

Re: Insects are disappearing
No, it's that people drive slower now because of unhelpful carbon taxes. the insects can dance out of the way.
it's science.

Re: Insects are disappearing
Dancing insects you say? That is a load off my mind. Plus I read that an invasive disease-carrying Asian Tick is spreading in the United States so even if the insect decline is accurate some species are still thriving.
Re: Insects are disappearing
perhaps this Asian Tick will toughen up our Millenials. I started with nothing in this life, and look at me now.
if not, we can put tariffs on 'Gyna' until the Chinese take back their tick and start buying our high-price steel again.

it was a very wise decision to bail them out sometime ago, so that they could better screw us, now.
I am planning to find a way to do the same with the US government, before I leave.

Re: Insects are disappearing
Some people think we should eat insects … They are now officially off the menu.I haven't seen a cockroach for at least a week. Don't know how much longer I'll last. It's pretty cold here. Do you think they go south for the winter?

Re: Insects are disappearing
Perhaps the bugs have evolved enough to know that windscreens should be avoided?
Re: Insects are disappearing
Possibly. They seem to be more aware than we give them credit for.

Re: Insects are disappearing
Great article. I wouldn't mind fewer cockroaches and houseflies on earth. But it makes you realize how important every creature is to the ecosystem.

Insects are disappearing
There is a lot of filler in the article. The main points are that people started noticing that they weren't smashing as many bugs on their windshields as they used to in decades past and that the mass of insects has decreased by as much as 80 or 90% since then and most of us are going to die. Possible causes are climate change or loss of habitat or pesticides or whatever. My guess is most of the insects were killed on windshields. Some people think we should eat insects to protect the environment. They are now officially off the menu.
