Religion, Faith, and Spirituality : Are you a cafeteria Catholic?

Are you a cafeteria Catholic?

Do you pick and choose what to believe?

Somebody else here mentioned going to mass however all of the ongoing church scandals have been a major turn off. I haven't attended mass for probably fifteen years or so. The only few times I have gone was because it was for a wedding, funeral or baptism not for the sake of going just to go

I went to catechism (religious classes) twice a week after school from first grade to 8th grade. I did all the sacraments from baptism to confirmation.

Re: Are you a cafeteria Catholic?

I think I believe in everything. I stopped going to mass because sick people go and spread their germs

Re: Are you a cafeteria Catholic?

Good point.

Like, do I really need to shake your hand to wish “peace be with you”? Why can’t we just wink?

Like, “Peace be with you”*wink*. “Peace be with you”, *wink*. “Peace be with you”, *wink*. And so on.

I think it would be much more efficient. We could easily shave off a clean 40 seconds each mass by doing that. Easily.

AND it’s more sanitary. It’s a win-win for everybody.

Yes, one poor guy had a fever and we held hands (his were sweaty) during the Lord's prayer
