Which police procedural do you think most accurately portrays police work?

I love all police procedurals but most of them are so far removed from what I've been told is the reality of police work. It's actually 90% red tape, tail chasing and dead ends and only 10% riveting investigation. Criminal minds is probably my favorite cop show but the cases they work on the show probably don't reflect a fraction of what actual FBI profilers deal with.

I assume most FBI work is mind numbingly boring and the "creative serial killers"are few and far between .

They probably spend most of their time investigating boring white collar crimes.

Cops, definitely since it's a reality show.

I've read that True Detective (aside from the occult storyline and a few plot points) was a fairly realistic look at the investigative process. Two agents with a lot of personal shit going on in their lives doing what investigative work entails–namely pouring over evidence, questioning witnesses/suspects, and trying to build a case that may never be solved.

Others that I've heard are a little closer to reality are Law and Order and The Wire.

Unfortunately I've never watched any of those shows, but thanks anyway.
