Jackie : Was Jackie actually like this.

Was Jackie actually like this.

From what I can tell she seemed to be a little off before and after JFK death

Re: Was Jackie actually like this.

Jackie had a horrid childhood she was always wanting to please people and make them believe she was good enough and smart enough. So when she became a Kennedy she had to fight through incredible shyness. The ultimate validation of her worth was the White House when that was cut short she was left wondering What about me? WHat am I if not the first lady? So she made herself into part of a myth a legend that was Camalot

Re: Was Jackie actually like this.

Jackie was well-connected and she came from a good family. She married down when she married into the Kennedy family. She was insecure and shallow.

Re: Was Jackie actually like this.

her father was so broke he had to borrow money to rent a tux for her wedding he was a drunk..who showed up drunk with his fly undone to her graduation..Blackjack Bouvier he was so drunk at the wedding her stepfather had to walk her down the aisle.
Her Mother was upper middle class who married him as a step into society

Re: Was Jackie actually like this.

Now question is what did JFK see in her

Re: Was Jackie actually like this.

Old Money blah blah..so were the Vanderbelts but they still had a kid jump of the roof on mothers day to his death. Jackie was left alone to fend for herself with employees ..Her step father was "A very nice man". BUt Jackie was broken and her mother thought a Kennedy who was important could fix her

Re: Was Jackie actually like this.

Actually, Jackie wasn't old money. Black Jack Bouvier lied about his "pedigree". The Bouviers were as "lowbred" as the Kennedys, if not more. Jackie's mother married an Auchincloss, that must be where Jackie's highbred fame comes from. However, the marriage was shor livre and Jackie was never close to the Auchincloss clan.
