It would make more sense to center the show around Darlene. She already carries half the show. The could call it The Connors. That's what happened to Valerie Harper when she was fired and her show was revamped to be called The Hogan Fami!y starring Sandy Duncan. They survived several seasons without Valerie, the original title of the show

Goodman, Metcalf and Gilbert carried Barr in the original show. It might have been created by her, but she was always the weakest link, performance-wise. Her fifteen minute film career demonstrated that, outside of essentially playing herself, acting wasn't her strong point.

The episode when Susan died and the characters casually brushed it off and went out for coffee always bothered me.
None of the characters had a heart. Every bit of dialogue was written to be a joke or to set up a joke. There was never a serious scene in the 9 years the show was on. They never dealt with serious issues like domestic abuse. Compare to Roseanne and Cheers which combined jokes with serious drama. Seinfeld lacked drama. It lacked a heart.
And centering an entire episode over Jerry being annoyed his girlfriend eats one pea at a time is just pure naraccsism. Out of all the things that make women annoying, it’s annoying that that’s what he’s annoyed by.
