Suicide Squad : WQhat was the underlying theme of this film?
Re: WQhat was the underlying theme of this film?
That the people responsible have no talent. That the quality control in Hollywood is very poor and probably a system of nepotism or cronyism rules instead.
That when the black woman calms shoots four of her close human staff in the head because they didn't have clearance but then allows a group of mass murdering psychopaths to go back alive to their cells with time off for good behaviour - that this film makes no sense whatsoever. That when what you do to the Joker (one of the best comic characters there are) makes him one of the most uninteresting things on screen, you really have problems.

You don't think the film itself was trying to impart some sort of lesson about family, or teamwork, or loyalty, or relationships?

Re: WQhat was the underlying theme of this film?
Ehhhhhh I'd say this movie is as much about "family, teamwork, loyalty, or relationships" as "Deadpool" was about Cancer.
"Call me Winston."
"Call me Winston."
Re: WQhat was the underlying theme of this film?
The only theme I got out of the story is that sometimes you have to fight fire with fire, no matter what consequences lie ahead. But that's just me.
