Wild : Wild vs The Way

Wild vs The Way

Both movies deal with long treks undertaken by the lead character, both totally inexperienced and not properly prepared, following the tragic death of a loved one.

Interesting parallel.

The Way takes place on a trail from France through Spain....the Way of St James, undertaken as a pilgrimage.

Both deal with resolving underlying issues with acceptance of the past and personal growth.

If you liked Wild, you might find The Way of interest.

Re: Wild vs The Way

I have seen plenty of people comparing Wild with Into the Wild, but this is the first mention of The Way that I have noticed.
I am definitely not a hiker of any sort but I seem to enjoy hiking films as I really enjoyed each of Into the Wild, Wild, and The Way - each for their own reasons.
The theme of finding redemption on the trail certainly seems like a strong one.

Re: Wild vs The Way

Tracks is much better than Wild.

Re: Wild vs The Way

Wild was a better movie.
