Wild : "I'd rather be a hammer than a nail."

"I'd rather be a hammer than a nail."

Getting a song stuck in your head sucks, but it sucks way more when you're walking alone in silence for hours, days, weeks, etc..

I thought this movie captured that element like a champ. The inner monologue and just catching yourself inventing new lyrics to the same song in your head over and over again was well done.

Re: "I'd rather be a hammer than a nail."

I always have problems with songs stuck in my head. I think I would have brought an ipod (or a Walkman, this was supposed to be 1995) with a variety of music so that no one song could get on a loop in my head for too long.

Re: 'I'd rather be a hammer than a nail.'

It's not maddening.

Re: "I'd rather be a hammer than a nail."

Agreed, that was really well done. I also liked one of the other hikers deliberately trying to get "What's Up" by Four Non Blondes running through his buddy's head. In the mid-1990s, that was THE irritating earworm song that you would use to torture somebody.

I have to say, if I had to end up with one song running through my mind for an entire trip like this, that Simon & Garfunkel song would be a great one. It's so pretty, and it has the unusual combination of being soothing and relaxing, but also a nice moderate tempo that matches up perfectly with walking speed.

For a dollar, name three white people.
