Directors : The Best of the Amazing Stanley Kubrick
Re: The Best of the Amazing Stanley Kubrick
it's crazy that 2001 was released in 1968 and it's special effects still hold up. not a single moment looks artificial. which makes it even more impressive today. it was the best movie of all time at release and it's only gotten better. it's the greatest film in the entire universe. it will never be topped. i'm not sure what it's about though.

Yeah. You and everybody else who hasn't read the book. (called 2001)
Great book - exactly follows the movie, and mostly explains what it's all about.
The original Arthur C Clarke short story that the film was based on, was called The Sentinel. You can download the PDF.

Re: The Best of the Amazing Stanley Kubrick
dr. strangelove may be his most important work. after rewatching it sometime last year, i checked the IMDb message boards and was amused to see so many people saying it was dated. and when i say amused, i mean fucking pissed. it's more relevant today than ever, the fucking morons. the threat of nuclear annihilation only grows with each passing year. more and more nations will have them, and it may be the tech advances so far, they can be built on an individual level. if humanity is to perish, it will be the result of these weapons, a force for which our species is not equipped to handle. it's almost inevitable that it will happen. we will all die and it will be painful. anyway, a very funny film. highly recommended.

Very passionately put! Who would have guessed.
It's a classic, isn't it. Crazy Peter Sellers.
And as you so hotly pointed out, it could happen so easily.

The Best of the Amazing Stanley Kubrick
2001 A Space Odyssey is probably one of my most watched movies. There is always something new to discover.
Plus the soundtrack is mindblowing
What are your Kubrick favourites?
