Millie Bobby Brown : who she "looks like"

who she "looks like"

Both here and on the "Stranger Things" board are threads where people discuss "who she looks like."

What is the obsession with "who she looks b68 like"? Does it make any difference? You know there are only a certain number of human facial features, everyone is sure to look a lot like other people.

Seriously, why do those discussion occur? Out of boredom?

And also seriously, she looks nothing like Natalie Portman in "Leon."

Re: who she "looks like"

Like 90% of young actress threads on IMDB boards have these "who she looks like" posts, and by young I mean under 25 usually.

They're rarer on male actors' pages, but they still pop up sometimes.

It seems to me it's probably a natural tendency based on the way our brains work and for some reason unknown to me is more popular to do with the girls than with the boys.

People talk about this issue just because it pops into their heads and they want to see if anyone else had the same thought. Just natural curiosity I think.

I su 2000 spect 95% of IMDB board posts could also be attributed to boredom, however ;)

Re: who she "looks like"

I agree, I don't understand the obsession either. I guess , being considered an exciting new actress has something to do with it, and maybe a little admiration for other actresses as well. Her popularity is rising everyday, and from what I have seen of Her acting ability, she definitely has a talent. Comparing her acting ability to someone else, would be more interesting to me, but I haven't seen enough of her work yet, to make a comparison.

Re: who she 'looks like'

Good post

Re: who she 'looks like'

Well I just want to know who she reminds me of. I mean yeah my first thought was she reminded me of Natalie Portman in Leon. But now idk. I just think she looks familiar and its like a word stuck on the tip of my tongue. I just wanna know.

Re: who she 'looks like'

Imo as irrelevant as who she 'looks like' is, I think she looks (ironically?) like a young Winona Ryder. Maybe that's who you're thinking The-Immortal-Mr-Dorian-Gray ?

Re: who she 'looks like'

Honestly she looks like she could be Sam Huntington's kid. Seriously look him up. It's eerie how much they look alike. The age difference is there too so if they ever needed someone to play his kid or her father in something either way they'd fit the bill.

Re: who she 'looks like'

I know, riiiight? Like, don't these people have anything better to do with thei IMDb time than post what other people look like? Anywaaays, anybody can see she looks just like a Teen-Steam era Alyssa Milano.

Re: who she 'looks like'

I don't get why it bothers you? Some actresses/actors I see, I'm like, "Wow, they look so much like [suchandsuch]. It's not a comparison thing - it's strictly an observation.

And with her, it was bothering me the whole season--I couldn't figure out who she reminds me of. Finally I figured it out - a young Judy Garland, Natalie Portman and a splash of Larisa Oleynik (that's just me, though).

Re: who she 'looks like'

It doesn't bother me. I am just pointing out how silly it is. It should bother the ones who make a habit of doing it.

Re: who she "looks like"

You make it sound like people are doing something wrong. It's fun to compare an up and comer with someone a 2000 lready established. People do that all the time. Do you ever compare art from one artist to another when telling people about it? Same thing with music? Same thing with Shows. Hell "Stranger Things" was compared to Spielberg meets Stephan king.

What is so wrong about these posts that got you so bothered to actually make a post of it?

When you eat an exotic fruit you have never tried, and had to describe it to another person, will you not make a comparison to a few other fruits?

The fact that this posts exist is the biggest mystery to me. Why even go out of your way to make a post to ask such an asinine question? Like that fact that you got offended from the other post making a joke about being "hot. I'm not trying to offend you, just really perplexed here. It's a forum. The only topic I cannot understand someone making a post about is the one you made a post about.

Re: who she "looks like"

+TxMike: I agree with you, but Millie is such a shape-shifting chameleon, it's hard not to want to jump in with a comparison, or several...

Re: who she "looks like"

After seeing her in interviews, she reminds me of Emma Watson. She could play Emma's younger sister in a movie.
