I'm not an expert but aren't parole hearings held in the prison where the prisoner is already incarcerated? It's hard to believe that prisoners are transported to some off-site location for a hearing but i guess he wouldn't have been able to escape otherwise. Still, i thought that was a huge detail where i was like WTF?

Most of the time, if not their then at another prison. I know where I'm from only a couple of prisons have places for hearings, and the prisoner is usually transported there for the hearing, and it's not possible to escape. I know in Mass, they are held somewhere else for people who are serving life
