No Good Deed : He doesn't fully nail the southern accent...

He doesn't fully nail the southern accent...

but it's a good try though - he's still unbelievably yummy to look at on screen!

Re: He doesn't fully nail the southern accent...

i dont remember Idris elba having an accent at all in this film

Re: He doesn't fully nail the southern accent...

Perhaps your ear is untrained. He tried a southern accent but couldnt maintain it. It was so slight it could be called a lilt. I am southern so I know what I hear...

Re: He doesn't fully nail the southern accent...

Who said he was supposed to be Southern? I didn't think anyone is this film was Southern accept her BFF. Atlanta is definitely a transplant city, so everyone isn't from the South.

Re: He doesn't fully nail the southern accent...

Replicating a southern accent is tricky. Idris is a British actor born and raised. Even born and raised Americans have a hard time replicating a southern accent if they are not from the area. His natural accent was free flowing in Pacific Rim. In No Good Deed you can hear him "trying" to suppress his British accent while trying to maintain what "appears" to be a southern accent. I'm from the south but have been up north for quite some time however, when I do get amped, my accent pops up lol.
