Westworld : William was never a good guy
Re: William was never a good guy
He fell in love with Delores and spent the rest of his life trying to make her real. Psycho in many ways
Re: William was never a good guy
Sort of like how fans of the show thought or still think they've figured out everything about Westworld.
It's called speculation, pretty boy.
Re: William was never a good guy
You think?
Re: William was never a good guy
How was he playing the game from day one?
Re: William was never a good guy
It was, already in his head to take out Logan. It had nothing to do with Delores.
Re: William was never a good guy
What makes you think so?
Re: William was never a good guy
Logan called him on it.
Re: William was never a good guy
I believe he was actually a good guy, but People like him that are always caring, responsible, reasonable, kind to everyone have a lot of rage inside of them, because it doesn't pay off. Trust me I know.
Logan was right after all, the park unleashed his true self.

Re: William was never a good guy
His plan to take Logans place in the company didn't come out of thin air. It had to be something he was already plotting. Delores only woke up something that was already in him.
Re: William was never a good guy
Like he said in both the past and present, Westworld shows you your deepest self.
I don't think he was already that guy at all. He was really the guy who played it safe and kept quiet to move ahead in the company. Secretly he knew Logan was incompetent, and that if Logan's father were to choose his successor on merit, he'd definitely be able to beat out Logan for the position. But he wasn't the kind of person to make waves.
But after he came to Westworld, he discovered his true self. He realized he could be brutal, and selfish, and take control of things. So after realizing this about himself, he acted on the feelings he had about his self-worth and value to the company and decided he was going to take charge of his life from now on.

Re: William was never a good guy
Ok you can make that argument. But I meant that it was already in him by the time we see him on the show.
Re: William was never a good guy
Personally, I don't see why he'd keep up the act so long if that were the case.
He may have thought of speaking up, and talking to his future father-in-law, and being more authoritative and ruthless to move up in the company but his perception of who he was made him think that was a pipe dream, that he'd never get up the courage to actually go through with it.
Back when he left Logan in Pariah, Logan was shocked, but William seemed surprised himself. That seemed to me like the first time he ever stood up for himself and wasn't going to just go along with what his superiors wanted him to do. If he came to Westworld planning to take Logan's place, that scene wouldn't make as much sense.
But after his experience in Westworld, he found himself, and realized he did have it in him to do what was necessary to get ahead, and achieve his goals.

Re: William was never a good guy
I agree. In other words, he found his balls.
And how "bad" was MIB really? If we assume he never committed any crimes in the real world, was just a cutthroat businessman, and all he ever did was turn violent in Westworldwell that's half the park. The only difference was William had purpose. Crazy purpose.

Re: William was never a good guy
They very well could have called this show Rapeworld.
